Nice car but the noises ruins it for me. 22k miles so far and has been in shop twice for cracking popping noises. Was finally fixed and now a new louder noise heard. This apparently is an issue with many camrys.

Bought my first 2012 Camry SE (4-cyl) in Magnetic Gray with Navi and Moonroof two days before Thanksgiving in 2011. Within a day I replaced the 17-inch wheels with some chrome 20-inchers. This car was hot but to me it had a lot of show and no go. After my car was damaged along the whole right side of the car in an accident (not my fault) I decided to get another Camry SE but this time it would be a V-6. I initially wanted the same color but the dealer kept pushing me into the one Attitude Black copy that was sitting on their lot. Of course they adjusted the price for me to take it off of their hands but I didn't want it because of the light grey Ultrasuede inserts on the seats. Overall the car is wonderful. Leather and Ultrasuede seats, JBL Audio system, Smart Key with Pushbutton Start and of course the very pewerful V-6 engine. My only gripes with this car is as follows: For a Sport Edition vehicle, the suspension sits too high and is waaay too soft. Softer than that of a standard Honda Accord. Toyota needs to stiffen it up and lower it just a little more to be effective. The transmission also takes a few seconds to react to your input of the gas pedal. Its like you have to stab the throttle much earlier than you need to in order to pull out or away from traffic. The Paddle Shifters on the steering wheel are a joke! Not responsive whatsoever! I've owned 5 Honda Accords in my day, from 1988-2006. 2 Sedans (1) manual, 3 Coupes (2) manual. The 2012 Camry SE is a very nice and sexy vehicle but the sport in SE doesn't exist. A little more sport and probably a 6-Spd manual option (wishful thinking) would make the Camry better than it already is, and would broaden its appeal to more auto enthusiasts like myself!...read morehide

I just bought this car after leasing a 2011 Camry. It is more stylish and has great features that come standard. It's a nice ride and great on gas mileage. Very very happy overall!

- Pros
- Interior quiet/comfort, great MPG, reliable w/low cost of ownership
- Cons
- Not snazzy exterior, thin carpet for an XLE, watch the concrete parking barriers w/low snout
Purchased As New
We bought ours in Mar 2012 and are still very satisfied after 11 months and 13,200mi. We have a loaded leather XLE w/backup cam, Nav/Entune and are impressed by the interior quiet and comfort for 4-5 tall adults in a mid size car. LOTS of trunk storage for road trips too. MPG has averaged around the EPA 35 hiway 25 city, and for past 5000mi of city/hiway driving including winter idling we have averaged 32MPG. The 4cyl engine is peppy and does well for freeway merging in this lighter weight vehicle, transmission very smooth shifting. We've had zero problems so far; excellent quality/reliability. The Michelin tires on the XLE are quiet and go through moderate snow & ice just fine. Entune smartphone functions a bit slow on the startup so plan to use for longer trips. Other cons mentioned above are minor: we bought this as a 200k mi 12-15 yr reliable vehicle so "snazzy looks" was not a requirement....read morehide

- Pros
- Appearance, Smooth Ride, Quiet Cabin, MPG, Comfort, Toyota Care
- Cons
- Pickup
Purchased As New
I bought this car new two weeks ago after trading a Toyota Rav4. The ride is smooth and soft like a luxury sedan. The power driver's seat is very comfortable and allows one to adjust the height, tilt, distance from steering wheel, AND lumbar support -- all very important, especially for those of us past 50. The cabin is very quiet and boasts a luxury items such as leather trim dashboard and touchscreen audio screen. The doors close with that solid "clunk," that I like to hear, indicating that they are tight. Heating and AC controls are easy to see and adjust, and both front and back windshield defrosters work rapidly. The audio controls are both on the touchscreen and the steering wheel, and the audio is excellent -- even for classical music aficionados. The car is a dream to drive and offers both driver and passengers ultimate control and comfort. Though the pickup is not like a V6, it is quite acceptable, and I happier knowing that I am using much less fuel. The MPG of the Camry is legendary -- it really IS a gas sipper! This is my fourth Camry, and I have decided that I will never buy anything else! I absolutely love this car!...read morehide

- Pros
- Good Fuel economy, good steering
- Cons
- cabin noisy at low speed
Purchased As New
Bought it new, good ride with a few issues: suspension clunking noise over medium size speed bump, driver side door panel ticking noise, back seat cover loose and cheaply made, transmission down shift can speed up the car so you have to press the brake harder to keep the front car at the same distance....read morehide

- Cons

I drive close to 30,000 miles a year, 100% of those miles being for pleasure. I love to drive. That's sort of an understatement.
I was given this as a rental car for two weeks while my car was in the repair shop and every time I drove it, I felt like I needed to vomit, and began to get a headache. It's too glide-ey, and it seems to slide every which way. The steering is hyperactive and overly ... intense. Just the slightest touch and it overreacts, which to me would be dangerous in a situation where you're trying to avoid colliding with an object and you end up going too far the opposite direction because of how over-responsive the steering is. The steering wheel is also very uncomfortable to handle. It seems too thick/oversized.
I'm going back to my 2011 VW Jetta TDI and don't have to worry about getting nauseous/woozy while driving, and it won't be soon enough!...read morehide1 out of 8 people found this review helpful.

- paddle shifters are a waste.with a fully electronic transmision, why do we still have a shifter

Typical toyota quallity.Fit and finish is amazing, even the carpeting in the trunk fits perfectly. To bad everyone has one but the sales figures just prove what a smart value it is. This car is not exciting, just high end basic reliable transportation.
