2002 Toyota Celica User Reviews

- Great fuel economy and looks
- Interior isn't that comfy for long rides and no back seat room
Purchased As Used
This is a nice little car. I bought this car to be used as my daily driver, and it was an excellent decision. This car is a head turner where ever you go. Everyone seems to like it, especially the younger women, but older women as well. You do have the occasional problem of young kids trying to race your though, as the action package kit makes it look like you're a wanna be kid racer. Of course that action package is the whole reason you get so many looks anyway. The car is pretty quick though, even with the small amount of horsepower. It really moves when the VVTL-I kicks in. You can feel the power anyway. This car also gets excellent gas mileage. It's not as good as some of the newer cars out there, but for the amount of performance and looks, it's hard to beat. The only down side is the interior. You really don't have a back seat, as even small little Asian girls have trouble sitting in it. All the trim is hard plastic also, so there's not much comfort. It also for some reason has a really high insurance premium. I don't understand why, but I also have a 2005 Corvette and the Celica costs more to insure than it. It doesn't really make sense, but it's like that, well at least with esurance anyway. You might want to check on that before you purchase it. The suspension on this car is also really stiff. That's good for a sports car, but bad if you want a nice relaxing drive. Overall though, I love this car. It's great to drive on a daily basis to and from work. The front wheel drive helps out in the snow also, but don't expect it to be great. It is a light car after all, but it can go in light snow. It's better than any of my Corvettes in the snow, or my Mustang anyway. Snow tires also will help if you plan on using it as a daily driver.
One last thing, this car has over 120,000 miles on it and it's still running strong. The engine is super clean and you would never be able to tell it has that many miles. I hope and expect it to last me to over 200,000 miles and then I'll have to find another daily driver. However, I'll never get rid of the car. When it gets that old it will join my antique Corvettes as I think this car will one day be a legend from our (my) days like the 69 Mustangs were from my dads. I'm only 24 after all, so it has some time to reach that status, lol.
