- We are getting a solid 28 MPG in the city, but we do not know the highway MPG. A wonderful ride.
- We wish the rear seats would fold all the way down for more trunk space.
Great to drive. Much more head room than the Honda Civic. Sporty looking with the rear radio antennae angled backward. Just looks fast! The ride is very smooth in comparison to the Honda Civic. A great choice for a compact automobile. Motor is spunky for quickaccess on the expressways.

- Style, instrument panel, gas mileage, value
- Steering, price
I traded my Tundra in for this little sporty car and so far I love the get up and go it has with the manual stick. Didn't care for the Auto with such a small engine and the AC running... Even at 6 ft I have yet experienced any uncomfortableness in the seat... The only two things I have negative to say is A) the center console seems a little fragile and plastiky including the rear cup holders and the steering is waayyyy too sensitive... It takes constant input from me on th highway to keep it down a straight and center path... I used to own a 02 Toyota Prius that was easier to drive on the Hwy... What gives? Other then that the stereo is great, the AC works fine, love the instument cluster layout, and the roominess inside and in the trunk for a compact car... First trip gave me 34MPG and that with Reg unleaded gas... Great value for the money and my local Toyota dealer is 1st class with service!!!...read morehide

- Looks (both interior and exterior), comfort, fuel ecomony, accessories and features
I have had my 2005 Corolla for over 6 months and it is nothing less than fabulous. I drive it about 60-70 miles each day and the comfortable interior, fuel economy and zippy responsiveness make it a joy to drive the miles. Sure, the car may seem a bit light causing it to be vulnerable to strong wind gusts, but let's face it, it's not a Lincoln but a compact that gets about 40 miles per gallon. If it weighed several tons, you wouldn't get this type of gas mileage. Nevertheless, I feel safe in this car and find it to be very comfortable and roomy. Passengers who have sat in the backseat have commented about how roomy it is. My "S" model has a very sporty dashboard and a Kicker speaker in the trunk. While I'm no young chick, I do on occasion enjoy turning up the beat. I truly could not be happier with my purchase. The Corolla has a reputation for lasting for years with minimum maintenance. In today's car market, how many cars outlast their payment schedule! I recommend the Corolla to anyone who wants to feel good about their purchase now as well as for years to come!...read morehide

- Great price for what you get, Fuel Economy, All goodies come standard
- Cockpit takes some getting used to
This is 4th Corolla in the family, we had '80; now parents own a '98, brother-'04, just bought my '05 LE. First experience with Manual tranny Corolla. Shifting is smooth, acceleration is good. Seat is comfy, my only complaint about driver seat is that the foot rest is too close, difficult to find a position where I could both extend my leg to depress clutch and rest it comfortably when cruising.
I love the increase in size over the previous '98-'02 cycle, yet it achieves better mileage thanks to VVTi, and still handles like a small car would.
I've driven '05 LE Auto. My 5 Spd definitely has smoother acceleration and quieter in comparison as long as I'm not redlining. If you don't mind driving a manual and you want an LE, take the time to find one. They're rare, but they're out there....read morehide

- I can ride from Hartford to Buffalo on one tank of gas...that is 412 miles!
- The visors could be a bit better....they do not block a whole lot of sun.
All it takes is one drive....if you got one of your friends to test drive your corolla...they would not drive anything else in this price range!
The XRS's are really sporty, get a lot of looks and EXTEMELY nice compliments...people won't stop talking about them. If you have a 6ft.5inch hubby like me.....no problem...he fits in like a glove! For a little car...theres plenty of room!
We go on trips all over and use this ....the trunk is a great size, we can pack my two big suitcases, his huge one and my sons suitcase, his stroller and other carry ons...all in the trunk. There are four places to keep your drinks and forgettabout the system.....6 disc changer and a lot of good music to carry us on our way....perfect for trips! Not to mention...this also has two places for your battery chargers....we can charge both of our cell phones or plug in our lap top from the back to play movies for our son while we are up front. This car is great! When I am alone.....oh my.....theres a lot of horsepower getting its use! YOU wont find another car that compares in this category...nothing comes close and its a TOYOTA baby....it will be around long enough to become a family member.....LONG LASTING, RELIABLE CARS that WONT let you down!...read morehide

- Roomy, nice accessories, good handling combined with good gas economy. Feels like a mid-size seda
- Minor: door pockets aren't big enough to store standard AAA maps
I like the car a lot. Although it is the same class as my previous car -'99 Mazda Protege 1.6 L, this car feels much bigger, and more powerful. Plenty of nice features that I used to associate with more expensive cars, like automatically controlled lights (which you never have to turn on and off), 6-disk CD changer, auto-locks. Also, there is plenty of storage space.
Some folks claimed that there was insufficient room for the driver and front passenger. I strongly disagree. I am 6 feet tall, and I have more than enough legroom.
A little note of disappointment: the door pockets are only available on front doors, and are very small - they can't accomodate standard AAA maps. If you have a habbit of carrying maps with you, you will ned some bag to be stored in the trunk.
Overall - strongly recommended to buy, if you are after comfort and reliability....read morehide

- Excellent mpg, strong brakes
- antenna too long on top of the roof
I shopped around for either a civic or corolla for 2 weeks, test drove both cars, the civic was ok too, but i really liked the corolla much more. The Corolla interior is like a mini lexus, and a lot more comfortable than the civic, the civic is nosier and cost a lot more.
I just got a 2005 corolla le with many options(cruise,cd changer,abs,alloy.....) at out the door price of $14.8k. Unless honda comes up with better design for the civic in 2006, I really don't understand how the current civic can compete with the corolla....read morehide

- Nice handling, good fuel economy, fit and finish excellent
- A leather option in the S model in a darg gray leather would be nice
Much more comfortable than Civic with better styling and ride. Pricing is better also. Would certainly purchase another.
