- Fit and Finish
- front seats
I used this car for a couple months as a rental, I got it with only 100 miles on it. While it got the job done, it didn't do it with any pizzazz. The engine was peppy enough, the steering satisfactory, and the fit and finshish well done. All the gauges were placed well and overall the car looked nice inside. Outside, it is plain jane.
Unforunately, the front seats (driver's particularly) were unsupportive. My back normally never hurts in a drive, but after about 45 minutes it did. While I had it, the "check engine" light came on. It was nothing major. All in all, it was an ok car, but I wouldn't buy it for myself....read morehide

- Handles nicely, good get-up-and-go, plenty of room for most folks! Lots and lots of
- Interior sort of cheap looking... not found too much to complain about yet.
I parked my F-250(diesel is $3.30 a gallon) and got a little commuter car. I am pretty happy with the Corolla so far, esp. after comparing it to its peers in the Neo, Focus, etc. It handles great, plenty of go to get out in traffic, and I don't feel like I am driving a 'compact'. It doesn't get up the 6,000' summit I have to commute with much guts, but then, I guess I can deal with that when it comes time to fill up the gas tank vs. the Ford Powerstroke. Some of the reviews have said it doesn't handle in strong crosswinds well. It seems to handle in the wind about as well as anything else, so I can't really complain.
I do wish I would have gotten the sportier trim, and am planning on buying the spoiler available from Toyota. So far, its worth the money... and should be paying for itself pretty soon....read morehide

- good fuel, comfortable
- my brand new car died after 1295 miles
I bought this car brand new from the dealer. One day I was driving and I had just hit 1295 miles (exactly 2 weeks and 1 day after I had bought the car) and it stalls mid driving. I get it towed to the dealer and they say there is a problem with my specific serial batch of the engine modulator ("the brain" of the car). Apparently, there have been a number of these occuring with the 06's because the part was on backorder. However, when they took a new modulator out of a brand new car, it worked... for a moment, when they then called to tell me there is a problem with the fuel pump. Apparently, the fuel pump isn't sending gas into the engine. They are working on this problem. Apparently, this is a problem that has also been occuring with numerous 06 Corollas. Where are the recalls? They don't know why this has happened and won't guarantee that it will not happen again...read morehide

The Tires were unbalanced. One part has more power than the other, one part wears out faster(left). The brakes break so easily. The lights go out so fast. The size is so small. There's only one thing I like about this car, the gas mileage. It's good, but overall, bad.

- Fuel economy, roomy interior for a "compact" care.
- None so far
Very comfortable and easy to drive. Takes up less room in my garage, but is still remarkably roomy (up front anyway). Fun to drive. The Corolla in "Silver Streak Mica" has a more expensive look than some of the other available colors, looks just as good as the low-end Lexus (IMHO) - for a lot less money....read morehide

- Fuel economy, comfort, appearance
- More standard features (ABS)
I have had my car for a bit over a week and I ADORE it! I traded in a very nice Mercury Mountaineer (that was eating me a live in gas consumption!) for this car and I have NO regrets! It's a smooth, quiet ride and while pick-up is a bit slow all in all I have no complaints. It's just a nice "zippy" little car with enough extra's to keep it comfortable. I researched like crazy and feel like I made a good decision....read morehide

- Performs and handles well for a high mpg car
- Pricey, cheap interior
In 6 months of light duty use sun visor fell apart, arm rest fell apart, and rear view mirror fell apart. At $18K for a basic LE with antilock brake and side airbag, no longer an economy car.
