2008 Toyota Corolla User Reviews
S 5-Spd MT shown
- $7,571 - $8,535
- Poor fuel economy
- Ride is to rough, road noise from tires is really bad, don't drive on a rough road surface.
I am so disapointed in this car. I am most disipointed with the auto test articles the writers put out. Where do these guys live. This car is
horrable in every way. Since I hate so much and canot get over 30mpg
on the hwy. and 25 in the city I have droven this cars compitation.
And Lancer, Nissian, and chev. and ford focus are all = to if not better.
Toyota in not in the class with the Honda Civic. I think toyota should have stayed in Japan because the quality of materials in this car is flea market brands. The most uncomfortable seats in the insustry.
Max distance I can drive is 200 miles then I have quite my back
is killing me. The cramped Cabin is horrable.
I wish I could find one thing about the Corolla I could say is average
but to be honest I cannot do that. Please do not belive the Toyota
hip they put in the car adds and the company brosures.
You can beat this car. The 126HP feel like a Brigs & Stratton lawn more
It sluggish and under powered for todays driving requirement.
Good luck i have 2007 CE FOR SALE AT A DISCOUNT PRICE....read morehide

- fuel economy was fine interior was well arranged
- very rough ride alot of wind noise at speed
you need to be a midget to get into the vehicle, there is no shoulder room in front, the seats do not ajust enough for long legged people the steering wheel doesn't have enough movementto give you a comfortable position. you should put a sign on the vehicle if you are over 5'10" don't buy this car or try to drive it. The wind noise on the expressway drowns out the radio...read morehide

- Fuel, seats, sound system , brakes
- Loud engine noise when hard acceleration, Noise, vibration when driving on rough roads
I rented a 2007 LE and drove round trip from San Francisco to Reno. Around town on smooth road surfaces the car is fine, but a lot of roads are really bad in California. The car is really bad on rough roads, freeways. I learned that on my trip to Reno. It is loud, and lots of noise, vibration in the front end, steering wheel and dash area. For the money it should have a more heavy duty front suspension system. Also hard accelertation brings out loud engine noise. Also consumer report magazine says the car needs side air bags to pass side impact accident tests....read morehide

- It is economical in gas.
- Looks getting old and bland, low performance, seats are awkward, pricey, quality is down.
The Corolla is getting old in style and bland comparing it with the '08 Mitsubishi Lancer with 10 year/100,000 mile warranty with gas mileage of 21 city/29 highway with 2.0L I4 engine @ 152HP is the sportiest among its class. The styling and shape tells its a sports sedan and modern to look at. Price starts at a low $13,900....read morehide

- Don't think of any?
- Not sure if this Corolla is made in China?
I am not fully satisfied with the quality build of the Corolla because somehow I believe this car is made in China were Toyota mass produce to sell more cars. Some other manufacturers like Mitsubishi, Suzuki and Mazda still makes them in Japan, not like the big three; Toyota, Honda and Nissan were they are made in China....read morehide

- Good fuel economy.
- INFERIOR and far behind international Corolla
All fine; But Toyota North America has taken US and Canadian consumers for a ride for past 12 years with decontented and inferior product. I brought 99 corolla after having 3 generations of international corollas' overseas. Tonnes of problems, primarily suspension which is still an achilles heel in 2008 model.
Hopefully, new model to be brought out in 2008 will be in line with international model - FINALLY unless US Designers butcher it again.
Had to go to court to have all issues rectified. Mine was the 1st vehicle in North America to have a this issue rectified; windscreen replaced, tyres replaced, brakes and rotors replaced, seats squeeked, etc.
North American consumers dont know anything better because they have not had the choice of having owned thse international models. What better way of milking the public to a brand name....read morehide
