- Stylish, Great MPG's
- Anemic Acceleration & Horrible Brakes
Purchased As Used
I traded a 2007 4-Runner Sport on the Corolla S. Me, like most folks across the US are suffering from fuel prices and need a break. Overall the car is fine and easy to deal with, although the brakes are horrible and the acceleration is more apt to be clocked with a Sun Dial versus a stopwatch - it's fine and requires very little maintenance. Sustained highway driving of 750+ miles @ 70 MPH produced 33.5 MPG's calculated manually. The onboard calculator is a little gracious, I'd subtract 2-3 MPG's for the average trip. Lastly, the Corolla S is a great car but needs a fifth-gear in auto trim.
