- Comfortable seats, sporty look
- Underpowered, bad gas milage, squeaky plastics and rattling interior
Purchased As New
I have been very disappointed by my new purchase. I originally looked at the Camry for a commuter but ended up buying the corolla for the better gas milage. The 4 speed automatic transmission is horrible. At 70mph (posted speed on the turnpike) the car displays an average fuel usage of 32-36mpg, however the actual milage is around 28-30 (on cruise control on flat lands in florida).
The interior head rests and sun visors as well as the plastics covering the airbags on the pillars are rattling at speeds above 40mph. Toyota promised me to order new plastics as they are deformed almost 3 months ago. Still no response. The head rests, oh well, too bad for me.
There is enough room on the inside as it is my commuter car and I am always by myself. However when the kids jump in the back there is complain about no legroom, or I just get kicked in the back of my seat.
My 8 year old Dodge Caravan is currently in better condition all around than my 8 month old Corolla. I bought it because of the reputation, reliability and the gas milage, I have been disappointed by all 3. Toyota really managed to drag their good name through the mud.
