2012 FJ Cruiser - Best Toyota 4 x 4 Truck Yet

I have been loyal to Toyota 4 x 4's for many years. I previously owned Jeep CJ-7s, GMC Trucks, etc. However, once I bought my first 4-Runner I never went back. Now, I have to admit the 4-Runner must take a back seat to the Toyota FJ. The FJ is the best 4 x 4 on the market. If you need to get pull something, and get anywhere, anytime, anyplace the FJ will get you there in one piece. Additionally, it has more pull and a smoother ride than my previous 4-Runners. If Toyota made heated mirrors and seats, added a moonroof/ sunroof and made A-Trac and Locking Differential a standard option I could honestly state the Toyota FJ is a flawless 4 x 4 vehicle. I have a 08 fj & wouldnt trade it for any other 4x4, love this fj the more I drive it, dose what I need it to do, pull trailers, cruse the wild off road and cruse down the highway in comfort! I like what Toyota dose for me thanks!

This is a totally awesome vehicle. I bought it almost a year ago and I still love it as much as I did when I first got it! I can ride over anything and through just about anything. My only issues are gas milage and the blind spots people speak of. The Nothing you can do about the gas milage (it is a V6 SUV after all), but I definitely suggest the back-up camera if buying new. I bought one of the first 2007 FJ's in April 2006. I loved that car. Last year I was hit by a red light runner on the passenger side. It spun me around and flipped the FJ up onto it's drivers side. The safety curtains came down as expected and the drivers seat sucked me in. I had no injuries except being a little sore. There was not a straight piece of FJ left except the back door which the firemen got me out of. Even the back seat was tweaked. I still miss my first FJ and thought I would have it have it forever but I bought a new 2011 FJ because I love the vehicle, it's fun to drive, it's dependable, and because it is safe!!...read morehide

Plainly put, I plan on driving this vehicle until the wheels fall off. When I started looking for a small to mid-size SUV I admit this vehicle was probably 4th down on my list. After driving it there was no question this shot straight to the top. It rides much better than my truck did and the Wrangler I test drove yet since buying it I have been surprised at how well it performs off road every time I've had it up to the mountains (I live in Colorado). I absolutely enjoy driving the FJ and other than the lack of leg room in the back seats I have a hard time finding something to complain about. My wife rolled her eyes when I showed her the car but even she has become a convert after riding in and driving it. I've owned quite a few cars & trucks and this is probably one of the most enjoyable I've had the pleasure of driving....read morehide

I have been a Mechanic all my life, an Engineer for GM , I grow up in cars, fan of off road , if you want to climb rocks, buy yourself a Donkey preferably a 4WD one its better than always break down Jeep, but FJ, this is more than a all purpose vehicle it does everything just fine, with style. Rock solid vehicle that can go handle anything you throw at it. Ride is suprisingly good and handling excellent. One thing you notice getting in the FJ is its quality of build. Of course it will turn heads at the gas station which is its only fault. But its not a hybrid, its designed to be worked hard. It can easily run on regular unleaded but shines with premium. Use synthetic oil. Most owners love their FJs and no exception here.
