Rock solid vehicle that can go handle anything you throw at it. Ride is suprisingly good and handling excellent. One thing you notice getting in the FJ is its quality of build. Of course it will turn heads at the gas station which is its only fault. But its not a hybrid, its designed to be worked hard. It can easily run on regular unleaded but shines with premium. Use synthetic oil. Most owners love their FJs and no exception here. The small windows, small rear passenger doors are things people point out as Cons, I love them, I am sick of huge glass trucks that look the same. Others go on to say it is not family friendly? I don't get it, why would anyone think it was designed for a large family? It is safe so it would work if you had younger children but not much leg room for the second row.

Test drive an FJ and you will love the feeling, its like you are in a little tank. It handles great on the road and even better off road.

The 17 MPG (city) is going to be hard to reach because the thing is so fun to drive! But considering how off road capable the FJ is, its understandable....read morehide

I have owned two Lexus autos, one being a 2008 GX 470. This FJ Cruiser reminds me a lot of the Lexus GX. It handles like a sports car (have optional Bilstein shocks), is very comfortable, has plenty of room to haul whatever. I replaced a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Limited with this FJ Cruiser and could not be happier with the change. The six cylinder engine is suprisingly quick and handles highway speeds with ease. Come on Toyota, offer the Lexus touch screen Navigation system in the FJs as an option and this vehicle will be perfect.
