- Smooth riding comfortable car with zero repair bills
Purchased As New
As a previous owner of Cadillacs, Mercedes, BMW's, and Lincolns, I was very surprised to find that my 2010 Toyota Hylander Hybrid was without a doubt the quietest and smoothest riding car that I have ever owned. Add to this the fact that, other than for oil changes and tire rotations, it was NEVER in the service department for anything else--REPAIR FREE AUTOMOBILE! I usually get tired of a car in 3-4 years and want something different, but I am getting ready to trade this in for a new Toyota Hylander Hybrid! I couldn't be happier with this car!...read morehide

- It's great to seat up to 8 people, or grandchildren with separation
- I don't feel quite as secure as in the 4Runners, but it's more car like
Purchased As New
So far, we're very pleased with our decision to go with the Highlander 4X4SE this time, having had a couple 4Runners and an Infiniti QX4 most recently. The wife really likes it's more gentle ride.

- Its fast and efficient
- the engine needs about 10,000 km on it before it becomes efficient
Purchased As Used
I bought this car as a used demo with about 10,000km on it. In about 2 months I put 6000 km on it in all conditions. Driven hard on tightly cornered mountain roads it's about as efficient as a corolla sedan, (and by driven hard I mean taking closed road 40km/hr switchbacks at 80km/hr, cornering to the limits of the vehicle). Driven normally it's about as fuel efficent as a yaris, but the highlander seats 7. Pretty amazing when you think about it. I had an opportunity to take it on a mountain dirt switchback road and I have to say, I'm quite impressed. I ended up drifting a lot of corners, and the car had a very even balance of understeer and oversteer. Even under hard braking before a switchback the car tracked predictably in a skid and accellerated well while cornering on dirt (with stock tires I might add) At highway speeds on faster long corners the balance is quite even and the car gives plenty of feedback as you approach it's traction limits. A 60km / hr closed road corner in dry weather can be done at 100 without skidding and 110 can be done still maintaining a line but with slight understeer without braking and even balance under braking conditions. Harder braking engages the VDIM predictably quickly bringing your speed down to safe limits....read morehide

- Luxury Drive - Luxury Features
- None - well - maybe the plasticy Toyota parts
Purchased As New
So I had to decide between the RX450h and the Highlander Hybrid - this was no easy feat. As much as Lexus pervades luxury - I don't think the Highlander is that far behind. The exterior is sweet with chrome handles, puddle lights that turn on as you walk by the smart key antennas, a taller, more powerful feel than many SUV's. But it's the ride and interior comfort that sold me. I can sit in the front seat and feel i am in a very roomy SUV -as compared to a car with big wheels feeling that you get from many of the "crossovers" in the market today. Plus, the ride is as smooth as butter. And as a family man, I needed to make sure that getting the kids in and out of the vehicle was no chore - this vehicle is a winner! Just look at the size of the rear doors - easily the largest door width of any vehicle I have seen. Oh yeah, and the third row is actually usable for an adult. Since the 2nd row seats actually slide forward/backward - you can make the 3rd row as roomy as needed. Overall - a good choice by me, and a great vehicle by Toyota. And, unlike the regular Highlander models, the Hybrid is Manufactured in Japan....read morehide
