2008 Toyota Highlander

- fuel economy, backup camera, seats, 3rd row
- small cargo area if 3rd row is up
Bought my Highlander Limited in Dec '08. Very very luxurious. Ride is awesome. Sun roof, heated seats, all leather, backup camera, automatic rear door open etc. are std. features in the Limited (at least for CA). Lots of space; smooth ride. Not worth spending a lot of money on a Merc, Audi Lexus. Highlander is value for money......read morehide

- Great fuel economy, TONS of room, feels safe, interior AWESOME, love back up camera fold 3rd seat
- A little hard to see out of back.
This is nothing like previous highlanders - looks like a smaller Sequoia! I've had for a month and love it. AWESOME vehicle inside and out!

- MPG pretty good. Love the look of it. Chrome on black looks great.
- Noises in the dash and lots of outside noise.
We have a 2003 Highlander Limited Edition. Looks good but has more noise from the outside than we expected. Rattles in the dash that no one can figure out.
I like the look and the Interior but should be a much tighter ride I feel. Don't think we will get another one for the price.
Just agreeing with some that have bought the new one. Toyota hasn't done a lot to better them....read morehide

- Plenty of power, good gas mileage
- LOUD. Road noise is terrible!
I love this car, but having been an owner of a Chevy Suburbarn for many years, I was shocked to discover ROAD NOISE! I drive the freeways all the time, and could not believe Toyota would make a car this loud. I went back to driveing my 97 Chevy Suburban for a few days, with the radio off.
The bottomline is, I spent 2 grand to soundproof the car with dynamat. From the rear hatch, the doors, the headliner and floor, I am covered with insulation. It was amazing to look at the car all stripped down, in that you would be surprised as to how little they did to insulate. The healinder is about 1/4 thich, and exposed to the metal roof. The floors are lined with a 3/8 pad, and there is metal exposed everywhere under the car! The third row seat sits on top of metal, the reach cargo area is right on top of the gas tank.
I am not nuts, of fanatic about noise, but simply wanted the peace and quiet I had driving my old chevy, and had to pay to get it....read morehide

- Powerfull, spacious, and classy
- Bench style 3rd row seat
Huge modifications in terms of size, appearance, and power compared to the last year model. The ride is pretty smooth and the space between the rows make it a very comfortable SUV. I wished the 3rd row seat was not a bench style so the seats could be folded separately for a larger cargo space.
