- quiet, nice ride, back-up camera, strong acceleration
- tire issues, satelite radio kit-bad reception, fuel economy, rattles
Purchased As New
The Highlander is a nice SUV. I would skip the odd factory sized 19" tire option and navigation. The 19" factory tires (Bridgestone 400'$ or A20 Toyo'$) wear out rapidly. The all-season tires are not designed for snow and this is not disclosed (deep in the manual it states 'snow tires'). The Tirerack solution is go up to 255-55-19 or go down to the RX 350 size and then sizes are plentiful and snow ready. The satelite radio kit is overpriced and full of bugs. There are a few rattles (above driver window when it's cold out and one by driver dash by A pillar). It's been a ok Toyota experience. The fuel economy is mostly pegged at 19-20 mpg.
