- Still believe it is a well crafted vehicle
- The cons becom more noticable after ownership...mainly creature comforts...
Now that I have owned it for a few months I wanted to provide and update. A couple of these I was aware of when I purchased the vehicle but others could only be identified after ownership...
Although I am still pleased with the Land Cruiser, I am somewhat disappointed in the lack of features one would come to expect in a $60K luxury SUV. Including... no memory seat, no high intensity headlights, JBL sound system is mediocre at best, interior lighting poor, climate control system struggles to maintain temp (which makes the dual climate control necessary but unavailable), no fold in mirrors, no rain sensor or "one-touch" intermittent wiper feature, no third row heater vent, heated seats have no heat in back and lumbar section, road noise from back wheel wells especially in rain, poor road holding in wind at highway speeds.......read morehide

- impeccable on and off road manners, comfort, poise
- minor - no memory seat and no heated steering wheel
This is a superbly crafted vehicle. After to VW Touaregs left me cold with a multitude of repairs and poor workmanship the Land Cruiser is a breath of fresh air. Toyota reputation was also a plus.
One drive and I was hooked. I researched and drove many SUV's, foreign and US alike, before I decided on this. No other (save maybe the Lexus) had as smooth a ride and gear to gear performance. Dial in the variable control suspension and go from riding on a cloud to a vehicle that corners well and takes winding roads with amazing ease. The features are sensational....and any off roader or one who encounters snowy/icy weather would love the flexibility in selection of performance.
A bit pricey...yes but I have heard the saying many times "Buy the best and you will never regret it" This is certainly true with the Land Cruiser....read morehide

- build quality, build quality, build quality. nothing in lux suv can touch it.
- seating is a bit akward. rear seats are clumsy.price
what else can you ask for ..although this could be half the cost of a small house, if you are in the market for a luxury suv check this one out.offers all the comforts of a 5 star hotel,, bluetooth, nav, heated seats, auto climate, sunroof, mp3 and satellite radio ready and the kicker is this is all offered on top of a tough solid off road platform. this vehicle will take you to the most remote and toughest places on earth. it has already been there and back plenty of times. the peace of mind you get with a toyota is worth it alone.if thinking about buying a navigator, escalade, mercedes ml,infiniti qx, anything above 50k. look at this one first! those other "suvs" cant even touch this one. so if you like to drive somewhere very remote and while being pampered on the way there, this is your vehicle. you may not even need to pack a tent, just sleep in the cruiser!...read morehide

- AWESOME TRUCK!
- There is none!
The Land Crusier is an incredible "SUV" that will meet and exceed your daily/weekend driving experience. This truck handles like a sports car in speeds in access over 100mph on paved roads without a problem and major 8 inch sized obstacles during over road driving. All of this while sitting on soft leather trimmed captain seats (heating optional) and 6 disk multi CD changer, gazing through the panoramic wind shield. Buy this truck, YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED, EVER!...read morehide

- Long list of standard features, good crash-test results, great reliability
- GPS is an expensive option, gas mileage(4x4), performance, but I didnt really expect that much
This is the ultimate SUV, it all started with the FJ- Cruiser way back when. Since 1998, the new body style Land Cruiser has been more about providing a luxurious ride while still sticking to its off-road heritage. This is noticed with the full time four-wheel drive which improve traction but hurts fuel-economy.Toyota has done an excellent job with the suspension, its provides a very smooth ride and they also did a good job covering up wind-noise which i'm sure was hard since this is a boxy vehicle. The V8 provides adequate power and the gears change very smoothly. This car has been acknowledged by many car magazines all over the world. In Africa, Egypt, and other remote places of the world, the LandCruiser is the SUV of choice, not a new one of course due to the steep $60,000 price this SUV brings, but i believe that money is well spent on a well-rounded SUV that you wont regret purchasing....read morehide
