- Great fuel economy, good trunk space with rear seats folded down
Purchased As New
I bought a 2012 Matrix 4Speed Automatic about a month ago. So far I am very happy with the vehicle. It has met or exceeded my expectations.
Driving around town, I got 29 mpg (US gallon) on the first tank of gas.
I needed a vehicle that can be used to transport things like small pieces of furniture and large boxes while returning decent mileage. This car definitely fits the bill.
Depending on the road surface, the ride can be harsh. I believe that this is because of the OEM tires.
Depending on the ambient temperature, I sometimes hear what sounds like a loose screw in the dash. This is the only fault I can find with this car so far.
The noise level on the freeway is better than acceptable for me. It is not as quiet as my Lexus but all things considered I am very satisfied with this aspect of the vehicle's performance.
Acceleration and highway performance easily meet my expectations. I don't expect to be drag racing with a V8 Mustang anytime soon but I have good fuel economy as a consolation.
It is too soon to rate the reliability but if it's anything like my previous Toyotas, it will be excellent.
I will comment on this initial review after about six months....read morehide
