- Pros
- MPG, appearance, saving a lot of $$$, quiet
- Cons
- lacking speed acceleration for uphill hwy on-ramp merge

Live in semi-hilly area and this car does better than I expected. I got the very basic Prius C One, and I miss some of the little interior luxuries, however the performance has so-far been phenominal for the 5 1/2 months I have had it. Had it on 3 1/2 mile hwy hill doing 75 mph the whole distance w/ no dragging (didn't realize I was going that fast because it was so smooth and quiet). Summer Rain Metallic is gorgeous and co-workers are jealous of $$$ I save vs. their big-boy toys that they are stuck with. When it snows, I still have a mid-size SUV I use till I am comfortable with driving this car a bit longer. Just hope it lasts 10 years - my last car was 13 yrs old, and other one I own is 12....read morehide

- Pros
- Great fuel economy, appealing look and its a lift back.
- Cons
- Push buttons placed where the hand brake at, why there?

This is best bang for the buck that one can get for a commute car or to strut around town. Gone from a 2007 Scion TC to 2012 Prius C - Never look back. Cost in gas & insurance have been so nice. I have put in over 30k miles within the last 10 months. I believe Toyota is being conservative when it comes to rating the mpg. I'm looking to buy another one (2013) for my daughter when she passes her driving test....read morehide

- Pros
- Otherworldly fuel economy, Info center display, Body styling
- Cons
- Cheaper looking interior, Stiff suspension
Purchased As New
Purchased new for $19,950 as a commuter vehicle. This vehicle has out-of-this-world fuel economy and that alone makes the car worth every bit of money I paid for it. The ride and interior is as would be expected for a car this size and price. The plastic interior is what gives the cheap feeling but it may be benificial when cleaning and will probably last forever. If you purchased this car it was for the excellent mpg and not the tire smoking acceleration or athletic curve hugging ability afforded a sports car. In my opinion it is the best bang for the buck and a good looker to boot. A couple of previous posts are bogus, one with the mpg claims in the 30's is absurd and he must have been driving with the parking brake on. The other was in regards to the fit of his body in this car. I am a 6'-1" 210lb man that has no problem getting in or out of this vehicle and the leg room is ample. Have fun with the knowledge of a smart purchase....read morehide

- Pros
- We are getting as high as 59.2 MPG with an average around 48!

We had a 2009 Prius which we traded for the greater room and comfort of the Prius V. We did not lose much in fuel economy for a great improvement in comfort for my 6'5" frame. We have the leather interior with navigation. Well worth it.

- Pros
- Fun to drive
- Cons
- Takes a bit of time to warm the car on a cold morning

Great looking small car with incredible fuel mileage. Very fun and comfortable to drive. Controls are basic, functional and more than adequate. I put snow tires on them, because the wheels are small, just in case (glad I did before the snow storm!). I bought the car in red and it looks great and is easy to see. Smooth driving. I use it around town and for short trips on the highway - about an hour - and it is fine. If you want a race car, then this is not for you, but if you want a perfectly adequate ride with decent speed, then this is a great car....read morehide

Very fun car to drive. So far I've been able to get 58.5 miles per gallon on this card. Three times better than my last Camry. It's a no brainer, this car is going to save me a whole lot of money with gas saving. I highly recommend Prius.

- Pros
- Fuel mileage, easy to drive
- Cons
- not a sports car

Driven nearly 18k, I average around 53 mpg in all kinds of driving. It certainly gets out of it's own way, but is not quick out the gate. It performs how I expected and is much more comfortable than I thought it would be. I'm 100 percent pleased with it.

- Pros
- Fuel economy is higher than stated, free service for the first 25,000 milles
- Cons
- A little rough, as expected from a small car
Purchased As New
After more than 16,000 miles on the car for just 5 months, I can honestly say that I love driving a small hybrid. Forget the so-called experts saying how poorly this car performs in going up hill. I live in the Rockies and I can go up the summits on I-70 faster than my 2008 Subaru Forester. I also do mostly highway driving and the car never disappoint. I can go as fast as 90+ miles. My top speed was about 95 mph and I couldn't hear much more noise than I expect from other small cars. I also got about 51+ MPG for 80% highway driving. When I drive in the city, I actually get more than 56 MPG. I am a very defensive driver, however. I can also see how one would get the stated average.
As for the cargo space, the most I carried inside my car is kiteboarding equipment for two person, camping gears for 2 person and 4 adults in the car at the same time! The two Russian girls did have to get real close to each other, however. ;-)
I think this is a great car for anyone living in the city. Even for someone who is as outdoorsy as I am, it is not a bad choice either. I already saved more than $1300 in gas money. I can see the car being completely paid for if i do keep it until 250,000 miles....read morehide6 out of 7 people found this review helpful.
