- .You deffinitly get what you pay for, no more, no less.
- Cons
- Grand Ma's car.

OK, so it's GREEN. It gets great mpg, I am satisfided that Toyota does not exagerate about this product. The only thing that I really dislike about the Prius(wagon) is that the rear seats donot fold down flat. I feel safe in it, but it deffinitly is a vanilla drive.

- Crosswinds move car. Rear AC is weak

At 10k miles I will share a bit about our Prius life. First and foremost...47mpg lifetime average! This is my first car that is consistantly above MPG average. With a little practice, tanks above 50mpg are easy. This is the ultimate urban-mom-wagon. New dishwasher slid right in, no problem. Lots of other larger loads hauled with no issues as well. Other cars may offer more sporty performance but to me the real magic comes when you spend $35 and get 450 miles out of it. Large crosswinds upset the car at highway speeds and the rear AC is weak as it has no overhead system. We looked at what we NEEDED 95% of the time and this fits the bill. For the other 5% we rent a van or truck and move on....read morehide

I own a Prius V, trim 5, coming up on a year now. See my mpgs in the Fueleconomy.gov site, I am the Ohio Prius V with a warmer weather 48 mpg average, I have had a few tanks of 50+ mpg.
My real total one year mpg is 46.9 mpg, cold weather mpg is 45 to 46 mpg (these are tank-to-tank calculations).I didn’t have all the info for the gov’t chart from my cold weather figures. Ok, I am the only driver and run almost 100% in ECO mode for max economy. ECO "off" or going to POWER position makes it seem like the car has gained 40 HP. The V hauls a lot: a twin bed can be laid in flat, but the driver seat had to be forward. By the way the V has a fold flat right seat too. As a hauler and a fuel economy generator the Prius V has done well. Depending on road grade it will run on battery to about 40mph. The center-mount gauge cluster is a feature I would change. IRS would also be nice. Ford’s CMax looks like a good hybrid but it wasn’t on the market when I bought the V. The Cmax is shorter overall and has a 4 in. shorter wheelbase. I think the Prius is sleeker looking and certainly will handle more cargo. It's a very comfortable ride....read morehide4 out of 4 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- 45-49 mpg, reliability, option trim levels
- Cons
- Driving position on longer trips, a little underpowed.

Obviously, the best reason to own this car is its biggest draw - the 45+ mpg with SUV capacity. During the summer months, I was averaging almost 50 mpg, consistently, in mixed driving.
Now that the weather has cooled a little, I am averaging just under 46.
I also think the leather in this vehicle is much more comfortable than the leather in our other car, which is an Infiniti G37. The downside is that it's hard to keep clean.
If you are looking for a car with great fuel economy with the functionality of an SUV, this is the one....read morehide3 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- 48 MPG, spacious inside.
- Cons
- Driver seat uncomfortable on long driving
Purchased As New
Great investment long term. Great back reclining backseats. Great space inside, can have all camping mattresses sleeping bags, cooking wares, tent in, and still seats five people.
Quiet ride, yet powerful when needed at acceleration. Eyes catcher on the roads --- I guess many folks are planning for their next one on this... But hey, we got it first!
No regrets.
I have to say though, the design is a little too much involved with triangles, and I was too used to old European boxy styles. That could be just me.
Love this car after all. It keeps me driving wherever I want without worrying about my wallet on the gas, especially in recent Californian gas price hikes....read morehide2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Excellent gas mileage and great performance
- Cons
- Not as comfortable or stylish as some other vehicles

I had a BMW that had heated leather seats and handled great. It also got less than half the gas mileage and many maintenance issues. Unless your wallet allows you to pay for the rising price of gas and frequent maintenance needs, I cannot figure why you wouldn't buy a Prius (or similar car). BTW: the next higher trim package has heated seats too.
The Prius is roomy, front and back seats. It has more power than expected, and in "Power mode" it really can move. It contains USB and the older "cigarette lighter" power. With Bluetooth or USB, you can control your iPod -- so all the modern conveniences of integrating phone and music/audio.
Bottom line, Toyota know how to create hybrid vehicles....read morehide3 out of 4 people found this review helpful.

I live in western CA- I find no problem with travel to beaches or moutains. I did pay for a full sunroof installation- gotta have my sun. The Navigation system and bluetooth is what we commuters need in CA. The Toyota dealership meetings that even teach us more re the battery and special tow instructions if needed. There is so much to learn with this car- I find I still refer to the owner's manual- which can be difficult to navigate. My fourth Toyota, hope I can keep this one away from the kids....read morehide

- Awesome fuel economy averaging 48 mpg in town. Reclining rear seats. Plenty cargo space
- Cons
- None

Purchased for for my wife who loves this car. Tons of room for kids in back with super comfortable reclining rear seats. Plenty of cargo capacity. All that room and averaging 48 mpg in town. Entune which has Pandora along with other apps is a must. Get the three, the additional money is worth it. Fun to check all the hybrid stats on screen and drive through the neigborhood on just electric power alone at 25 mph. Nothing comes close. We even took it on a cross country trip 1200 miles....read morehide
