Purchased As New
I had a 2008 prius and while I loved the gas mileage I hated dring it! I test drove and loved the new Prius V, and after 3 months and 5,000 miles I couldn't be happier with the purchase.
This car has the exact same cargo space as a Ford Escape, seriously. I can fit a double stroller and a hockey bag in the back cargo area, comfortably fit two carseats and an adult passenger in the back seat, and still feel worlds apart in the front. The low to the ground design makes it look smaller than it really is inside. The nav system, back up cam, and entune service were all standard in the version III.
The different driving modes make a huge difference. I can click "power mode" when entering a highway and blow away most vehicles, and then click back to "eco mode" and enjoy the gas mileage that comes with it while cruising. It's like having turbo in reality.
There are only two negatives which I would say need to be addressed in future models. The regenerative battery charges while braking and if ou are on enveven surfaces it will automatically lock the brakes up for a split second and this can be challenging at times, especially if the person in front of you brakes hard. Also, they didn't improve the pitch of the driver's seat so you may feel like you are leaning towards the interior of the car if you drive for a long time. I like to shift from one side of the seat to the other on long trips and this is hard to do with these seats.
Overall, very good vehicle and if you haven't seen it in person it is worth the time to take one for a spin around the block.
