2001 Toyota Prius 4-Door Sedan

- Good small car performance
- Batteries may die too soon.
Purchased As Used
I bought this car with around 40,000 miles on it. I now have 163,000 miles. Overall it has been great, but Toyota says the battery life is 180,000 miles, but mine died at 157,000. And at $4,500 to replace, this kills the cost per mile value of the gas mileage savings. Now 5 months later, they say I need a new computer and some other work which will cost over $2,000. I have liked this car, but I have had other cars that have lasted longer, without such high repair costs, even near the 200,000 mile mark.
