- Great fuel economy, fun to drive, quiet
- Not the best on ice but definitely do-able
Purchased As New
This car converted my husband to the "green" side of life. We are very pleased with our purchase and get almost 60mpg in summer, 53mpg winter. I love how the engine shuts off at stop lights and RR tracks -- my husband loves the pickup it has for passing. It's fun to watch how long you can get it to drive on 99.9mpg (it's like a game). I was sad to sell my 1991 Honda CRXsi, but this car made the transition less painful. We can't recommend this car highly enough....read morehide

- The gas mileage is great but it is so easy to drive and has kept us safe in bad situations.
- The driver's seat is not comfortable for long trips. Bad visibility at corners.
I never owned a new car before but this one meets all expectations for a new car. It looks good, it is fun to drive, it is great on gas, the sound system is excellent. I have driven through blizzards, down gravel roads, cross half the country and through a monsoon. Never, yet ever, a problem handling it or feeling confident that it could do what it needs to do. The brakes are a miracle and the hatchback, which I thought I would hate, has proven to be a miracle. Easier to get luggage in and out, more space to pack things in and the secret compartments are a gas. I have not learned how to use everything on the car, not yet ready for the voice-activated commands. But other than that, it is just the most fun car to drive....read morehide

- Engine shut off when stopped, electric motor for stop and go has lots of torque
- Tire grip could be better
Had my '08 for a year+. Driven almost exclusively in DC stop and go traffic. Electric motor has a lot of pep from stops, zips. Stop and go mileage 38-40 with leadfoot. Drops to 25-27 when cold (6 mile--20 min drive with stop signs every 50-100 yards). That compares to 15 mpg on my other cars, so is still a lot better than anything else in comparable conditions. On long hills (Western MD/Cumberland Gap) acceleration suffers. However, aerodynamics are brilliant, so more than makes up for it when freewheeling on downhill side. Kept this up for 10 miles with SUVs--they'd gain on the uphill when I'd drop from 80-55, then they'd get slowed down on downhill side when hitting a wall of air and I'd zip by. But it did get annoying after a while. ~42 mph on hwy at 80 on long stretches. Really enjoyable and comfortable car to drive, keyless entry is great--fob never leaves my pocket, wish I could do the same for my front door... Front and back legrom better than most large cars. Only con is that tire grip is tenuous (skinny tires, light weight) and traction control is somewhat skittish, esp. in wet weather....read morehide

- I get 50 to 51 mpg almost every tank. I LOVE THIS CAR
- No Negative comments!
I have a 2008 package 6 Prius and I can say alot about this car, but to some it up: I LOVE IT. It's like a game for us, we are always trying to get better gas mileage. The bluetooth, keyless entry, backup camera, 6 cd changer, nav. system, are great extra's, but I'd do without them knowing what great gas mileage I get. I would recommend this car to everyone. Our family drives this Pruis around knowing that we did something good for the environment. Very comfortable, and lots of room....read morehide

- I love driving by the gas station which up until yesterday was at 4.18...now it is 4.08
- I think that the transition from gas to electric could be a little smoother
I have never loved a car, but I truly love this one. It makes me feel good to be saving fuel, money and our ecological system. I think we figured out that we could go all the way to Florida on 3 tanks of gas and we live on the opposite end of I-75. Thanks for making such a GREAT car!

- very roomy with lots of storage space
- very light, so does not grip well in bad weather
You will love this car! Great gas mileage, less emissions, comfortable, great pick-up and plenty of room. This car is affordable and green, there is no comparison!

- great gas mileage, great power, great space (can get my bike inside)
- Terrible in the snow with factory installed tires. Great with snow tires.
Love our Prius! Had it since March 2007. Even my husband loves it and he was skeptical. We can fit a kayak inside. Or a bike. So much more spacious inside than we thought. And great pickup. Great gas mileage - and we live at 6000 feet. We average about 46 mpg. It gets slightly better gas mileage at lower altitude. Inflate the tires more than they recommend and that helps your milage. Great in the snow (if you put snow tires on it)....read morehide
