There are too many Hybrids out there now for anyone to still "hate" Prius owners. Just as ugly as any car out there; I'm not impressed with any car's looks. It fun cus it's different to operate. It's a good car, period.

Not completely satisfied with fuel economy, getting only 40-45 mpg not 50-53 mpg as advertised on the freeway. Ride is not soft, pinging noise when idling or starting is annoying, engine noise is louder when using extra power. JBL stereo system below my standard, it seems like the stereo system audio is not HD as stated, even when using personal CD or Mpeg files....read morehide

We were brought up to think that "aerodynamic" styling meant a Corvette or other "sexy" sportscar. But this is what a car with incredibly low coefficient of drag REALLY looks like...form follows function. Since I bought my Prius 6 months ago, I've been completely seduced by this marvelous piece of engineering. I love the moon roof with solar panels that run a fan to cool the car when I'm parked in the sun, and the "power" drive mode option that ups the throttle when I'm driving in the hills. And I've learned to "sail"...stay in electric mode for long stretches, using no gas at all. This car is a joy to drive....read morehide

I've read through the reviews here. The person who claimed to get 28 mpg was either lying, or going at the top of the speed limit of the vehicle all the time. Ridiculous. The person who claimed the vehicle made them feel smug and arrogant hasn't paid much attention to a certain group of Chevy truck owners who are 10 times as smug and arrogant about their vehicles, and their right to tailgate those annoying GREEN vehicles ... I thought about this purchase for a long time and I bought one and drove it home today. I averaged 57 mpg on the first day and had it at 60-70 on the highway. I feel great about saving all of this gas. I drive about 100 miles a day so this is well worth the road rage.

So I thought having this car was the hip thing to do here in SoCal. I never really liked the look of it but thought I can get over it with thte fuel savings and helping the planet and such.Turns out I was informed by some eco folks that the batteries in side of it are waaaaaay worse than any benefit I gave by saving fuel. As a matter of fact they made me feel like an idiot for driving this ugly thing when it actually does more harm than good. Also I have noticed the only ladies that like my car have one themselves... My new 2012 feels heavier than my other 2006 Prius. Road feel is almost non existent but I don't mind this; after all it's not a sports car. All dials and controls are in easy reach, light colored upholstery is perfect in FL. Hope mileage and longevity in my 2012 are equal to my 2006 (42 mpg), which had no problems other than 2 minor recalls, which were handled quickly and efficiently by dealership.
