2013 Toyota Prius

- Amazing reliability & economy..
- Most boring color palate on the market.
Purchased As New
This is my third Prius (2005/2010/2013), having traded the 2010 in to take advantage of 0% financing (keeping the 2005 still). The changes since the 2010 introduction of this version are mainly VERY positive, and show Toyota has been listening to it's customers. The carpet is black now, so floor dirt isn't the first thing you see when you get in. LED daytime running lights are standard, which is very useful given the dark & somber colors most of the cars come in (Why does PriusC get all the fun colors?). Steering wheel controls controls have been more logically arranged, and the right rear C-pillar window is now equipped with a defogger.
A backup camera was added as an option to my base car, which is really useful given Prius's limited rear vision. However that vision is limited due to a HUGE trunk, which is often overlooked in reviews of this car. The only negative I've found so far is that the trunk area is no longer color-keyed to the interior (probably for cost savings), unless you buy the light grey interior.
I've put over 150,000 miles on Priuses in 8+ years, with only 1 repair (a water pump seal @105,000 miles on the 2005). It is amazing to me that this much technology in the service of fuel economy is this reliable & comfortable, and yet has this much utility with decent performance. It will take A LOT for somebody to sell me a different car!
