- power (c'mon it's a 4-banger)
Purchased As Used
Bought it with 42k on it, and still going strong at 154k. Still has original clutch. nothing but oil changes and routine maintenance. at 150k I spent $2,000 on new rotors, brakes, shocks/struts. All to be expected. Never one break-down.
Driving impressions; Rides very well, a lot of hwy noise-but that is normal for most high-reving 4 cylinders. Shifts easy. Handles great in WI snowy winters. AC is still ice cold. The convenience of the rear seats reclining and sliding forward and back is rarely found in this vehicle class. The rear seats are a breeze to take in and out. Tons of room when seats are out.
Overall outstanding car. I would be tempted to replace it with the same generation when it dies. Too bad Toyota eliminated the manual transmission in 2005 model...for that reason alone my next car will probably be a Subaru....read morehide

- We average around 25-28 mpg.
- No complaints, WE LOVE OUR RAV.
Purchased As New
We leased our Rav at first, then we fell in love with it and at the end of the lease we purchased it. The maintenance cost has been so minimal it's unreal. Other than 3 pairs of wiper blades,2 sets and a pair of tires and routine oil changes , and 2 batteries ,is all we have done to our Rav.It's a 2001 with 141,000. We have never owned a vehical we loved so much. I really don't want another auto of any kind. There is a Prius in our future when the Rav no longer runs. We have owned a lot of new vehicles over the years, but none can compare to our Rav. It handles great, turns on a dime. We feel very safe in it even with the high mileage. Once we purchased it, we never took it back to the dealership.KEEP UP THE EXCELLANT WORK TOYOTA! Albert and Sally Peters of Fowler, Ohio...read morehide
