- rides like a car, roof rack and cargo area=lots of space for a family of 4, great fuel economy
- back seat is slightly small for adults
I absolultely loved my '03 rav. I was recently in a bad car accident.
I was going 50 mph and someone pulled out in front of me. My RAV was totalled. Air bags and seat belt saved my life. 37,000miles on it,
1 1/2 yrs old, pd $24,000 new. Got $19,800 when totalled...holds its value!!! I'm going to buy an '05 this week!...read morehide

- The room in this little S.U.V. is greater than my Lexus RX330
- For the limited version, power seats and radio controls should have been included.
I have had 3 Toyota Rav4's since they came into production. My first was the two door rag top that was the most fun to drive, but the most impractical of the 3. My second Rav was when the model changed and had the 140 Bhp engine which, when on the Highway trying to pass a Tractor Trailer, did not have enough power.
My current Rav4 is a 2004 Limited edition. For the package it came with a roof rack, leather interior, heated seats, cruise control and power sun roof. I was dissappointed that it did not come with power seats and the more powerful stereo that was included with the oddly named 'chili' edition. Other than these minor complaints Toyota has gotten everything right with this version. The 161 bhp engine has more than enough power for the purpose. The seamless AWD system plows through 8 inches of snow without difficulty, and the volume of cargo carrying capability with the back seats out exceeds the Honda CRV and my Lexus RX330. Gas mileage is around 25 combined. Overall this vehicle is a real pleasure to drive City or Highway. Great Job Toyota!...read morehide

I LOVE driving my Rav-4! We looked at the Element, Vue, and CR-V before purchasing the Rav-4. Several financial mags we get ranked it #1 and after driving it for a couple of months, it's easy to see why. It's a FUN little truck to drive! It gets pretty good gas milage for an SUV, it's easy to park, and my RAV-4 has more head and leg room than my Dad's Envoy! I love that the rear seats can be removed as well as folded down and it has quite a bit of storage space. And you can definitely feel the horsepower when your on the on-ramp trying to merge in during rush hour!
I opted for the 4X2; two weeks later we got a killer snow and ice storm. Unless you live in Canada you probably don't need it. I had absolutely no trouble, even on roads that had not been plowed. There is a pretty decent blind spot, coming from driving a little car it took some getting used to. The RAV-4 also comes with some pretty big tires (15/16); great for mud and snow, bad for your wallet when they need replaced....read morehide

- Visibility when looking to change lanes, fast acceleration, comfortable seats, solid feel.
- Need a lot of room to open the back door. It swings to the side instead of up.
I just bought this car a little while ago and already love it. It's very stylish, and fun to drive. I test drove the Chevy Equinox and Honda Element and CRV and the RAV 4 was by far the best I drove. I was very impressed with everything about it. If you are looking for a small SUV this is a must to test drive. I think you will like it as much as I do. Gas mileage is about 24 miles per gallon, but I look for that to go higher as I break in the engine. I also have the All Wheel Drive one, so the gas mileage isn't as good as the Front Wheel Drive....read morehide
