- Best gas milege SUV, very reliable, very safe
- Slow acceleration, little bit to loud on freeway
I had my RAV for almost 4 years, and never regret that I bought it. It has best gas milege for SUV except Hybrids. If the size is matter and you don't care how much you spend on gas every month go for Sequia or Hamer and good luck to you. RAV is a small SUV, and that was perfect for me. I am single mom who does a lot of home improvements, and I never had a problem to transport something from Home Depot, and I still could park this car in compact parking spaces.
Even it is SUV it feels and rides like a car, but still great on rough mountain roads. The acceleration is little bit slow, but it is not a racing car after all. I liked the full 3d seat belt on the back seats.
I was in car accedent in this car: hit solid rock wall at 45mph and flip to the side. I had not a single scrach or bruse, that surprised paramedics a lot, but that tell me something about that car.
Anyway now I am shopping for new vehicle, guess which one it is going to be......read morehide

- Light Doors, Cargo Racks, steering response, lever fold rear seats
- rattling, transmission, cost cutting, heavy rear gate, gate not go up goes right, some part design
Good car but Toyota quality is not what it used to be.
Rattles here and there rattling glove box was repaired.
Rattles cost us to go back to the shop 4 times already.
Quiet at first but after tire rotation you could hear the wind much more.
Dashboard doesn't have that soft coating but a plastic feel.
Transmission has a problem when shifting from Park to Drive.
Fuel economy is not 30 Highway. We get 24.
No information system like other cars.
Can't get GPS
Seats become too soft after a while.
Very hard to sleep in back seats
Unlike GM, Toyota has no daytime running lights
Steering is good and you have cargo racks. Yet cargo racks are hard to put in and take out.
Some designs like the hood is low quality and the hood prop is attached to a engine box which is mounted very loosely.
Not as good as previous owned Toyotas...read morehide

- Great looks, roomy, delivers on the fuel economy
- Middle passenger seat belt...doesnt engage
I don't understand the road noise problem that other reviewers are reporting. Even when I have my sunroof open, I have to say, noise really isnt an issue. Overall a good value. I do get the mileage on the sticker, I am not a big person, and most of the time drive solo. For a car of its class, it has decent power and handling for a 4-banger. I get lots of compliments on the looks, many drivers like the fact its not as "cute" as previous model years....read morehide

- SAFETY, good-looking, plenty of space, good pick-up for a 4-cyl, tight turning radius
- Kind of noisy, sound system seems a little weak, rear passenger doors seem insubstantial
I've only had the car a week, so I can't comment on the MPG, but overall I'm well pleased with my purchase. I test-drove the RAV4 and the Honda CRV, and it was a tough decision. In the end, I was won over by some of the interior features, the safety systems, the storage space and the sleeker exterior. It also helped quite a bit that I got the Limited '06 model for what a new '07 base model would cost. I wouldn't expect any great price reductions until mid-'07 at the earliest.
The only things that are minor annoyances are the sound system and the fact that Toyota apparently thinks everyone has short legs. The driver's seat doesn't seem to provide full thigh support, but with the right adjustments to the height and tilt of the seat I've made it work. The sound system seems underpowered for what it supposed to be a higher-end model, but I did get the multi-disc changer and controls on the steering wheel, which are quite nice. Overall, though, I wanted a safe, reliable vehicle that I can drive for several years, and that's what I got (at least, I'm pretty sure about that!)....read morehide

- ease in driving/parking. Fuel economy is excellent.
- Needs some internal dressing up.
Maintains value. Excellent trade in value. Tailgate opening out instead of up makes access to rear compartment much easier.

- A joy to drive. Very roomy for a small vehicle. More garage space!
Shopped all small SUVs as well as midsized cars. Toyota RAV4 had better interior quality than the Honda CRV. Better choice of interior and exterior colors. Better gas mileage than all the other SUVs. If planning to lower rear seats to haul stuff, you don't have to dismantle the rear seats to lower them as you do with many other small SUVs (ex. Mazda, Hyundai). Just pull the levers and the seats drop. Awesome. Good sound system once it is adjusted to where you like it. More storage for CD's than the Grand Prix I traded in. For those complaining about gas mileage, I hope you're actually figuring it out rather than judging by the number of trips to the gas station. The RAV4 has a smaller gas tank than many other cars (such as Camry and Accord). Please consider that before complaining. I absolutely love this car. I think up excuses to go for a drive even with gas at almost $3 per gallon! Oh, by the way...this car has plenty of get up and go for a 4 cyl....read morehide

- Good Fuel Economy. 4 cyl is still pretty powerful. Smooth ride. Trunk opens like a door.
- uncomfortable for tall people to drive. Not Much head room, no arm rests.
For me its great because I am a short small girl but for anyone that is a little taller or bigger than me its uncomfortable to drive. But the back seats are comfortable. I love the fact that the trunk opens like a door. Its much easier to open. Also I love that it has a sunroof. This is a great classy car for a teenager or a person in their 20's. Not a family car....read morehide

- This site SUCKS.
After driving this SUV for a month, I would say that there are no regrets about this purchase.
Things I like:
Decent cargo space.
A lot of leg room in both rows.
Family loves it.
Decent fuel economy: 20 MPG.
Good looking SUV.
Things I don't like:
Dealer staff is a bunch of idiots. Sorry, but they seem to be trained for giving stupid answers about their cars.
Not very quiet at all. A little bit too much of road and wind noise at high speed.
Engine is good, but being used to a Hemi 5.7L, I really miss the power. May be the 6 cyl. would solve the problem.
Advertised 24 MPG in the city is just an ilusion. I've been consistently getting 20 MPG (Using Premium Gas). I have not tested it on the highway yet.
Overall I am satisfied with it and I would recommend it as the best option if you are looking for a small, reliable and high quality SUV. The second choice would be a Honda CR-V which I also liked, but not as much as the RAV4....read morehide

- Great Looking, awesome interior, lot of space
I just bought this 4x2 Limited edition 2006 Rav4 and the dealer mentioned that I was the first to buy. The dealer was not ready to negotiate at all in the begining but somhow managed to get it down by $819 from MSRP. They said I was luck to get at that low price:-) Love the SUV!!!
