- Good Fuel Economy, GREAT IN SNOW
- Limited should come standard with Leather Seats
This car has great fuel economy, I can fill up one time and it lasts a good week+. It is great in the snow! Used to drive a Jimmy SLT before this and I think the RAV4 handles better in the snow that the Jimmy did! Just very impressed with the whole package. Would have expected to see the Limited with Leather Seats and not cloth. Still very happy with it though....read morehide

- Great handling on the street or the highway, plenty of pep in the 4-cylinder
- Drivers seat a little short for taller drivers
I drove a 2007 RAV4 4X4 Limited from NYC to Boston and back and I was pleasantly surprised by the power coming from the four cylinder engine. Handled extremely well on the highway with a full load. Rides really tight -- can't imagine how much tighter the S version suspension must be. Although steering wheel is adjustable, seat is a bit short for taller drivers. Lack of legroom can get a bit exhausting on a long trip. Overall, though, this is a pretty good little SUV!!...read morehide

- Good fuel economy, powerful, and smooth on the freeway
The RAV4 4 cylinder 4x4 performs excellent for a family of three. Runs great on the freeway plus good fuel economy on the city. Loaded it with
700 lbs. payload weight and it's like nothing for the 4 cylinder RAV4. It's like I'm driving the RAV4 with empty load. It really suits my family use and can't complain with the power. If you need the RAV4 for towing or going off road, then get the V6. But if it's for daily use in the city and for picking up kids and doing groceries, the 4 cylinder will do just fine.
The speed limit on most freeway id from 70 to 80 mph. The 4 cylinder RAV 4 runs smooth and can even run till 100 mph and the engine still wants to do more....read morehide

- Handling, storage, side curtain airbags for rear
- No light in rear cargo; Someime hesitant acceleration from stand-still
This is my 4th RAV4. I started with the little "high-top tennis shoe" design and have now, I hope, purchased my last vehicle. The handling is as always, nimble, responsive and stable. With the addition of 14" in length, storage is absolutely the best ever, and it rides smoother than the 2005 I had.
My only semi-complaint is the hesitancy that I sometimes notice when I try to accelerate from a stand-still. It's great when you're already up to speed, but I could "burn rubber" in my little 1999 model. Perhaps the 6cyl would have better "get up and go", but the 4cyl has proven to be quite adequate for me.
I have had Celica's, a Supra, and a 4-Runner, any of which I would gladly exchange for the RAV4 I drive today. I see complaints about noise.....without the addition of the vent shades which add wind noise, this one is the quietest yet and good grief...you are driving a small vehicle, not a full-size SUV. Also, if the gas mileage upsets you, get a Prius or one of the hybrids. Try the gas mileage on the 4-Runner....about 10MPG less than the RAV4....read morehide

- Great gas mileage, love the new exterior design.
- Rides very rough, and very noisy, interior very cheap looking. CD changer loud when changing discs.
I do like the car overall, but I came down from a Lexus GX 470, so I'm used to things being a bit nicer, and riding alot smoother. The limited in most other cars would have included leather seats, and passenger seat controls as well..........I think the vehicle is VERY over priced for what it actually is, and upgrades are pricey.
Check out other vehicles before buying one of these.........for what you pay for it, you can get something alot nicer..........and likely less noisy....read morehide

- Great storage space, nice ride, great quality, doesn't feel big
- fuel eco is not as good as advertised 24MPG, for the $ should have a power antenna and pwr pass seat
We found the storage space excellent in a car that does not feel big when driving. The compartment in rear swallows up a ton of stuff. With the rear seats folded you can fit almost anything. The rear seat has plenty of leg room for an adult. The four cyl is very peppy and the transmission shifts crisply. Don't think you have to spend the extra $ for the 6 cyl. Fuel eco has been a bit disappointing. Advertise 29 MPG and only been able to get 24 MPG max. Everything about this car screams quality and it is fun to drive. Only two complaints: Wish that more options were included instead of adding on. It pushed the $$$ to $28k from the $20K base price to get sunroof, leather, airbags, etc. I imagine the 6 cyl & third seat would be above $30K. This is Acura territory. Also for the $$$ should give you a power antenna and a power passenger seat...read morehide

- Comfortable, rides well
driven 6500 miles, LOVE IT, 6' 2" 230lbs plenty of room, like moveable rear seat, rides well even on Illinois roads. 4 cyl has more than enough power for my use, this is my second Toyota and my 16th new car

- I am getting appallingly bad mileage in town. Rated at 23 getting about 19
- Crude ride awful climate control display
This is a terrible value. I paid a premium price for a Toyota. THe diplays are unreadable in sunlight. The four cylinder is terrible. The gas mileage is appalling. I could have had a Highlander or Murano V6 and be getting better mileage. Toyota is arrogant and rude and will not address any of my complaints....read morehide

- Abundance of room,acess to engine (servicability),appearance,price
- Seat comfort, minor engine ,ride, and wind noise,no rear dome light
I was able to negotiate a good price.Msrp was $25,884 with the only options being; moon roof, side curtain airbags, and floor mats. Final cost was $22,550. The ride is ok but there is noticable noise. Seems to be some road grumbling , slight wind and engine noise. It is minor .Comfort in front seats can be taxing on long rides. I'm 6'1" 195lbs and my wife is 5'9" 145lbs, and both of us needed to stretch our backs after our 105 mile trip. There is a ton of room in the front passenger seat, rear cargo hold, as well as the 2nd row, even with the front seats moved all the way back. The drivers area needs more wriggle room. The center console in the 2nd row is difficult to fold down. With window lockout engaged to keep kids from playing, it also locks out drivers control to operate them . Once this is engaged you need to disengage to operate those windows. The rear cargo hold needs a dome light instead of a light on the swing out door. The swing out door would be nice if the window opened out or down or up. Also the door swings out towards the curb. This is not good when loading or unloading items from a curb. You need to walk around the door causing you to make sure that you have enough room between your cars door and the person who just pulled in behind you. The 18 inch tires are nice, great road feel, but are not a common size and will be expensive to replace,(I already checked for snow tires). Accelleration is fine. Mpg is a solid 23 on AVG. All in all this seems like a solid vehicle with head turning style , good financial value and a nice sounding "THUNK" when you close the door....read morehide

- Good Looking car, comfortable interior (especially for reclining back seats)
Got it on December, the price is very high for small sized SUV but we took it anyway cause we fall in love with it. If you sensitive in price, better get Highlande since dealer are offering good discount.
We drove the car for about 5,000 miles since we bought it, took it out to Shenandoah (on a rainy day), Atlantic City, Raleigh and I must say highway noise is really good, handle like a sedan, cornering is very agile.
We opt for Premium Sound with JBL Subwoofer and it tight, sounds great and the subwoofer is not eating space since it was installed on the back door.
LOVE IT...............read morehide
