2006 Toyota RAV4

- good gas mileage, lots of interior room, perfect size, V6 really scoots
- a bit of road noise, soooo hard to get the V6 much less the V6 w/options you want
We originally wanted the Limited V6 with leather and DVD player. Apparently Toyota is not making any w/leather now (in my region?...) We would have waited well into the Fall. I'll never know why Toyota is producing these vehicles so slowly. We're very happy with the Sport though. The fender flares and spare tire (complete with another aluminum wheel-not a steel wheel) turned out to be more to our liking. The vehicle rides great. It soaks up bumps nicely and the acceleration is unreal. Gas mileage is better than my V6 Jetta I traded in. There is an abundance of room for my 6 year old daughter-even when her car seat is in the middle of the back seat. This is my first SUV and I never thought I'd own one until we saw an article on the RAV V6 in January. There is a touch of road noise, but hey-it's not a $45k Lexus RX 350. What it is, though, is a great multi-purpose family oriented vehicle with nice fit and finish, comfort, fuel economy, and interior room for under $27,000. Nothing out there is as blazingly fast for that price. If this vehicle doesn't win SUV of the year I'll be very surprised.
