2006 Toyota RAV4

- Great power, handling, the 18 wheels make a big difference.
- Radio is junk, fabric seats are "pulling" after 4000 miles, sunvisors fall out
Toyota has produced a very powerful, comfortable, easy to drive, good handling on the curves and highway vehicle. The 18" inch wheels and V6 are the only way to go.
Downside, the radio is the worst radio I've even had in a vehicle. The seek and scan have different levels of sensitivity. You can't use seek to find a station you have "scanned' past. Occasionally the radio goes into "hiroglyphics" mode.
The seats - very very cheap fabric. I've owned fabric seats in most of my vehicles and after 70,000 miles they still looked like new. I have pulls in my 2006 RAV4 seats after 4000 miles.
Gas mileage on the highway is excellent. Gas mileage in the city is way over-rated. I average 16-17 in exclusively city driving. Far from the 23 sticker. I do get about 28-30 mpg on the highway.
Worst part is the arrogance of Toyota. They are quite aware of the QA issues. And they refuse to acknowldge. I've already had more issues in the 3 months of ownership of the RAV4 than I had in total for 4 different Ford Explorers. It's as if the RAV4 was made in China and bought at BigBox Mart.
