- very powerfull with decent fuel economy
- a little too much wind noise on high way
This thing is a bottle rocket. it has almost too much power. you definitely need to get the 4wd or else there is a lot of torque steer. lots of cargo room. dont get the 3rd seat it too small to add any value. i love this car

- Reliability, fun to drive, tight construction, visibility, excellent sound system, good cargo space.
- Front door frame a bit low for tall drivers; fuel economy could be improved
I bought my Rav4 in August, 2007 -- traded in a Honda Accord. I have thoroughly enjoyed driving it. lt maneuvers well in all kinds of traffic, is quite stable, and is quiet. Though the fuel economy could be slightly improved, it is a much better solution than the larger SUV's. I particularly like the ease of getting in and out -- a real asset for senior citizens. This is a great car! I plan to drive it for a long time....read morehide

- Sporty look, V6 power, excessible road and engine noise, mediocre MPG
- Easy entry and exit, lame quality audio and cheap materials interior, options add-up too expensive.
I've owed this car for 7 months and the mileage is at 13,000 miles but I heard the rear brakes already rattled a bit and the engine started to have some noise. So I am very upset about the quality of this car, the noise the rattles sound and the poor quality of the interiors, plus the flat and tingling sound from the audio systems. So i don't want to say much here just to let you all know if you want to invest $25,000 on a car , make sure you do lots of research and test drive different brand, and do not believe the MPG company stated, but to find it through friends or reliable sources....read morehide

- Toyota reputation for quality, brakes, cargo room, towing capacity
- Delayed downshift in transmission, city fuel economy, poor trim for the price, poor visibility
I own this car for 4 months by now and use it mainly for short trips (3.5 mi) to-from work and occasional highway rides. I have yet to develop a fuel economy number on the highway, but I think it will be above 30 mpg. In the city driving it is far worse - 13-17 mpg when ambient temperature is around freezing point. I can only hope it is that bad because of the short trips I make - the engine is barely able to get to operating temperature.
Before buying this car I spent a lot of time researching it. I chose V6 over 4 cylinder engine mainly because of its towing capacity - 3500 lbs versus 1500 lbs. All V6 models I saw had trailer pre-wiring package installed. I was assured by a dealer that a car has all nessesary wiring to connect a trailer. I trusted the guy - big mistake from my side. The car actually does not have any trailer wiring. You have to buy a wiring harness and route it from the driver's side dash all the way to the back of the vehicle, removing many internal plastic panels as you go. Definetely not a job for a beginner.
Toyota customer service on their website appears like a bunch of school girls who does not know anything about cars and does not want to help you with anything. Dealer service departments are not much help either.
So I had some bad experiences with the car, but after all- it is Toyota. I hope I will love it more as time goes by....read morehide

- Milage ,power,looks
- Upholstery,inside trim
Obviously not enough R and D before release. Power great . If you really behave can get 34.9 mpg (I did). Upholstery won't last---picks like a sweater.Cheap appoinments ie plastic poorly fitting. 3 or 4 trips to dealer for repair after 6000 mi. I cannot in good faith suggest this vehicle to friends. I bought because of Toyota reputation---a mistake ! Did regular Toyota factory really make this vehicle or was it out-sourced to another country ? Makes me almost want to look at American made vehicles....read morehide
