I bought a 2005 Toyota Sequoia Limited 4x4 fully loaded and I LOVE IT. This car is absolutely amazing. From the ride to the power to 4 wheel drive system, everything is Toyota quality and made to last. At first I had the impression that this car would be like everything else out there, BOY was I wrong. The Limited combines luxury and reliability together to give you the best bang for your buck. Bottom line, it's the best SUV out there that can give you everything and I love it....read morehide

- Pros
- It's a Toyota
- Cons
- No power seat or rear window memory
After two years of researching every SUV in the same class we bought the Sequoia. We have also owned an Explorer and 4Runner. Wanted quality and it delivered. We drive it on the autobahn at about 90mph and it's smooth. It's handling is tight. If you complain about braking, gas mileage, body roll, and acceleration, go buy a car. It's a large SUV and they all have limitations. Toyota also makes an effort to reduce emissions more than other makers and that comes with a price on performance. Interior quality is as good or better than every other maker. 3rd row seats are hard to remove and heavy but they're comfortable and well made. Reliability was key since purchasing or servicing these models in Europe is difficult. We have not been let down and it's been all over Europe in every condition imaginable hauling kids, visitors, sporting gear, and luggage. We will keep this Sequoia Limited for a very long time....read morehide

- Pros
- BIG, comfortable seats, DVD system great, pretty good gas mileage
- Cons
- Radio not the best to pick up stations in my area.
I traded in a Volvo 850R for a Black with gold lettering 2005 Sequoia and I LOVE this vehicle. We have travel all over the eastern U.S. in it and it is so comfortable to go on long hauls in. I love the room and the ride is excellent. I highly recommend this vehicle to anyone.

- Pros
- Lots of leg room for 6' and taller person in ALL rows of seats.282HP is plentiful, even in Lake Tahoe
- Cons
- Engine surges when stopped at red light, so keep brake pedal down. D side seat squeek at 6k miles.
Front head rest looks kinda cheap. Child seat when placed in 2nd row center, tends to tilt to passenger side. Why? Don't know. 3rd row seat easy to remove but heavy. Rides smooth at high speeds, handles well with a bit of understeer. No mechanical problems yet. It's a very large SUV and parking in tight lots or street is a bit challenging. I put 12K plus miles in 9 months. Avg. gas mileage is 16 mpg. Even with these flaws, I love my Sequoia....read morehide

- Pros
- Great performance, hitch package, DVD entertainment system, and design both interior and exterior.
You may pay a bit more but you'll have a great vehicle. I exchanged my Ford Explorer for the 4WD Limited Sequoia and it's the best decision I ever made!
I have a boat and the Sequoia is a great asset for trailering my boat as well. Comfort, style, performance are just a few words that well describe this powerful vehicle!...read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Leg Room. High Speed Stability. Smooth Powertrain.
- Cons
- Atrocious Mileage, Moderate Road Noise, V-8 Somewhat Under-powered.
I rented the 2005 Sequoia SR5 4 x 2 from the local dealership. This car is basically a Tundra with back seats. The 8-way pwr seat cradled and supported my 5'9" frame very, very well. Leg room is wonderful!
Traveling down the interstate at 70 mph, a moderate amount of tire noise and road noise does come into the interior. Its very stable and well behaved at high speed. Driving at 75 mph feels like 55 mph! You don't have to work very hard to keep this SUV under control.
The ride is smooth, composed and soaks up bumps well. Can't say I drove over many potholes. But, on some uneven surfaces, the truck seems to gallop a bit. This is because its basically, on a pickup truck frame. But, at least it doesn't rock back and forth the way some SUV's do.
This is a very heavy SUV. And the V-8 is a tad overwhelmed. That being said, the powertrain is still very smooth, and its high tech, variable valve timing, iForce V-8, still have respectable acceleration on freeway on-ramps.
Gas mileage is atrocious. Driver info center indicated between 13 and 22 Mpg most of the time. We're talking pain at the pump....read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Fully loaded Sequoia outperformed the escalade etr and navigator for 15 thousand less
- Cons
- Trans shift on column, should be stick type
Reliability and copy cat Lexus style and performance make this Fully loaded, Nav, dual dvd, remote stereo ,power, everything, a best buy for the long term owner. It was cheaper to purchase the toyota than lease the lincoln or caddy. and the historical reliability ratings justify the long term ownership Roomier than the land cruiser or either lexus 470 model, the off road capability is superior to the other high end SUV's. A few less HP than the others is compensated by better engineering and MPG and who tows over 7000 lbs anyway. The big draw was the computer controlled VTRC rollover system that includes ABS 4WD and traction control functions all in sync to assist the driver, plus front and side airbags and curtains make this five star safety rated SUV one of the safest vehicles for the family ever. Its mostly made in America, not Canada or Mexico and that feels good too. I looked for six months before buying and I plan on 200,000 or more miles in high end luxury. When family or friends see the second row captains chairs and all the leather and gadgets they think they are in the Lexus but didn't know they came in the larger model. Seven comfortable adults plus all the gear in one SUV saves money from the three vehicle trips of the past Beside the Sequoia, only the full size Caddy and Lincoln have a legitimate adult third row, the rest are for preteens and this model won hands down....read morehide

- Pros
- Fuel economy, quiet
- Cons
- Small cargo
Toyota makes the best cars, so we decided to get the Limited Sequoia as our first SUV. It is very quiet from the inside. The V8 engine and the horsepower is perfect for everyday use, it does not consume a lot of gas than its competitor. We drove our Sequoia from California to Texas, Texas to Kentucky then from Kentucky back to California in two weeks. The trip was a success with a comfortable long drive and a comfortable long ride from the passengers. We also own a 97 Avalon, 93 and 05 Corolla. These cars are the best we've had so far....read morehide
