- comfortable, fits a ton of stuff, great in town and hwy ride, fits two couples and their kids
- not great gas mileage, tires ride OK
We purchased the XLE AWD 11/1/06 after much research and reading reviews like this. We were hesitant because of the gas mileage issues, the tire issues, and general loudness while riding in the vehicle. I have to say after 4000 miles we are absolutely thrilled about the purchase. It rides fantastic and fits a ton of people and dogs. It is extremely versatile for mom's and all their gear plus multiple families. The gas mileage is not great but we expected it. It gets about 17.5 around town and maybe a tiny bit better on the hwy through the mountains, but not much better. The tires ride just fine and the added safety benefit of the runflat tires outweigh the short mileage warranty. I quess we will see how much mileage we actually get, then I will let you know how I feel. The vehicle rides extremely smooth, handles great, and gets around in snow just like a truck does. There is a lot of debate on these sienna's but it gets the thumbs up from us who were very skeptical from the beginning!...read morehide

- Lots of space. Handles and rides beautifully. Good on gas. 100% family safe!
- Run flat tires are bothersome.
My wife and I love this van!! Perfect minivan for the whole family, and even your dog. Gotta have one of these minivans.

- Great ride, gps system, dvd player, easy to see out of, back up camera, blue tooth capable,
- horrible mpg, transmission
I love my van but was very disappointed that I traded my SUV because of gas mileage and was certaianly mislead on the sticker regarding the mpg 18 city 25 highway. I am getting 12-14 city and 16 on highway. Transmission shifts really hard. Dealer laughed about my mileage and thought that I was getting good mileage. Will NEVER buy another toyota. I feel like I was lied to on the sticker I think that is false advertising....read morehide

- AWD,SAFETY,power,MPG,features,comfort,excellent sound system,very reliable
- sometimes there is a minor squeak
i actually own a 2004 toyota sienna XLE Limited AWD,i just want to let people know how the sienna will be at 95,000 miles.
my sienna just hit 95000 miles yesterday, and it has been the best van i have ever own,out of 3 vans this is by far the most reliable, comfortable, and powerful.
i took 4 trips cross country from sacramento,ca to N.Y.C.,5 trips from california to washington.
It rides comfortable and i average 23mpg city/highway,it has tremendence power for a minivan, the safety is a big plus, the brakes are very good.
on all of my road trips the sienna has been very reliable.
the sound system is superb, its a 10 speaker JBL Synthesis 360 watt sound system, and it roars.
the DVD system is great, and the navigation helps out alot
the AWD works excellent in the winter....!...read morehide

- Nice smooth ride, good gas milage, easy walking inside the car
- not many
I have been driving the Limited for 1 month. Its a very nice car. 2006 AWD model doesnt have Run Flat tires, I am happy about that. Full of gadgets. Cruise control with automatic distance maitenance to the car in front of you is a cool feature. Every little detail is thought out for moms driving with children. Even a lipstick holder :)...read morehide

- Extremely quiet, Lexus-like drive and comfort features. The Bluetooth phone connection is amazing
- Fuel Economy (expected) Looks nice, but not a huge stand-out. Expensive (but worth it!)
I was lucky enough to have a choice of *any* car I wanted (within reason -no Bentleys, etc) and after months of looking/test-driving I chose a Toyota Sienna Limited AWD with GPS/DVD and Bluetooth phone connection -- This in spite of the fact my children are mostly grown and I had no 'need' of a minivan. I looked at:
Toyota Highlander Hybrid.
and many others. The above, along with the Sienna were my final 5.
I chose the minivan route because I loved the idea of having enough flexibility of having both extra passenger room (if family or clients/staff needs dictated) *and* extra cargo room for visits to...anywhere (or both at the same time - THAT is great)
I chose the Sienna because of the incredibly quiet and comfortable ride, the quality reputation of Toyota and the feature set that included....ummm.. everything but the kitchen sink. My only wish: That the Sienna came in a Hybrid model.
Though I've never owned an AWD car or SUV before, I've had enough of Midwest winters to realize I probably wanted one, and that also helped narrow the field. I've had the van for a month and have already had the fortunate/unfortunate need and use of the Traction control and anti-lock brakes while in a nasty rain storm -- it literally saved the day.
What is unique about the Sienna: The incredible QUIETNESS of the ride. I'm hard of hearing and in spite of that am still able to hear/participate in conversations that take place behind me because even at highways peed there is barely an outside sound to be heard. Even in the Lexus I test-drove, it didn't compare.
(For those of you who don't WANT to hear your children in the back, the DVD player with headphones would be wonderful: They listen to theirs, and you listen to yours).
Also unique: Every seat, including the rear, is comfortable for adults. (maybe not the rear middle, but still...). I recently drove my staff do a training session in the van and all were amazed at how comfortable and quiet the ride was in every seat. No one complained about their spot (and from that group, that says a lot!).
Great Must Have Feature: Bluetooth for the Phone. I dont know how I lived without this before, but I LOVE having the Bluetooth connection for my cell phone. The car automatically becomes the speaker/headset and when I make a call or one arrives, it mutes all audio and displays the caller ID. I can answer without ever taking my hands off the steering-wheel and have the conversation loud-and-clear (on both ends, Ive asked for critical review from the people Calling me, and got none another GREAT aspect of such a quiet car). I also feel Much safer. If you are trying to decide if this feature/package is worth it please allow me to give a resounding YES to that one (not unique to Sienna, but an excellent option no matter what)
Another great must have: The rear back-up camera/parking assist. I feel much more secure knowing I know what is behind me. My family and grown children all laugh that they know NOT to have me teach them to park. With the camera and backup assist an indicator if you are getting too close to an object love it!) Ive been able to safely pull out of small alleys (dont ask!) even in a van.
Quirks: It took a little time to get used to the laser-guided cruise control, but I see the logic of it now and do feel safer knowing it will warn me if I get too close. Also, I have yet to figure out how to have a *private* conversation while connected to the Bluetooth speakers in the car. There is not (as I can yet tell) a way for me to unhook it while driving: That can get embarrassing if your husband calls you snookums and your boss is in the car!
Annoyances: Ive sat here with a blank section for 5 minutes and cant think of one: Enough said.
Wish list: That they come out with an Hybrid version (not for 2007 or Ill be really mad I didnt wait).
Recommend? Absolutely!...read morehide
