2006 Toyota Sienna

- Reliable and good fuel economy
- Under Powered compared to other Vans-w/frequent downshifts
Purchased As New
98,000 Miles and still rolling. Replaced Tires every 40,000 miles, Brakes at 90,000 miles. Very reliable and comfortable. traded in a 2000 Town & Ctry Limited. Comfort levels are the same and fuel economy is slightly better with Toyota. I'm not impressed with power levels compared to similar vans that performed better on takeoff. Highway speeds drop slightly on hills with frequent downshifts to maintain speed. A problem with the radio occured at 35K and replacement was necessary after eating one of my CD's. I would buy another Toyota againprimaryly because the cost of operation is low....read morehide

- Good Van, best in class.
- You can see the differnce between Japan ONLY Vs Indiana Assembly
I have owned toyota brands (Toyota / Lexus) for many years, this is the first vehicle that it is not 100% assembled in Japan, you can see the poor quaility in the american assembly. Wind Noise, How things fit together, etc.
Good car, and I am trusting the toyota brand, I am reluctant of the Indiana assembly plant's workmanship and quality.
We will see....read morehide

dodge/chrysler wants 33000,but less powerful, comfortable, and so much less features.
kia/hyundai wanted 32000 but felt cheap
GM vans were 30000-35000 but the engine was so loud and rough ride.

- Wood trim, leather interior, and has excellent resale value.
- I would say nothing.
I originally own a 2004 Slate Metallic Toyota Sienna XLE Limited FWD for about 2.5 years now. With 40,000 miles, I didn't even had a minor problem with this van. The best $36,000 I ever spent. This van will guarantee to be in mint running condition by the time it has 250,000 miles.

- navigation system,dvd system,JBL sound system,power,comfort,everything
this van has been excellent, the ride is great, it has excellent power for a van, and the seats are super comfortable.
i switched from my 2005 honda odyssey touring,it was an ok van but lacked features and had too many electrical glitches.
the sienna is a lot better quality than the odyssey.
the JBL sound system sounds exceptional, the navigation system is simple and great, and the dvd system works flawlessly and is so clear and perfect.
gas mileage has been very good i got 27.1 mpg on a recent road trip....read morehide

- Mileage decent
- Transmission/motor hesitation if shift is reqd; Wind noise loud.
Access to rear seat not easy.
Shifts hesitate, then jerk car and passengers.
Wind noise at speed is "normal" says the dealer. Bunk. Can't hear the radio over 55 mph.

- power doors,hatch,and 3rd row....power under the hood,braking system,everything
i love the power rear hatch on this van, also the doors are powered, the 3rd row folds in the floor by power also, minivan first dealer said. it has an excellent engine it gets up and goes with no problems, this van has a panic brake system....called brake assist,it works like this, when most people panic stop they dont press the pedal hard enough,so this van senses a panic stop and maximizes braking.
this van has so many safety features standard, front airbag, side airbags, head airbags,ABS,panic brake assist, everything!!!!
sound system is incredible,it is a 10 Speaker JBL Sythesis 360 watts, 5.1 surround sound,it is unbeleivable, dont beleive me go check this site out edmunds.com
System Score: 9.0
Components: The 10-speaker, 360-watt JBL audio system is standard equipment on the XLE Limited. It also includes a six-disc CD changer mounted high in the dash that loads very quickly (and even has a slot for your old Depeche Mode tapes), along with steering wheel-mounted controls. There's a center channel speaker just above the head unit and tweeters on each side of the dash. Large oval-shaped full-range speakers are mounted in the front door panels, circular midwoofers can be found near the third-row seats and two more tweeters are also mounted in the back. Best of all, there is a big subwoofer hidden in the wall of the cargo area.
Performance: The bass output is not what you expect from a minivan. The Sienna's sub produces taut bass that is warm and accurate without faltering until the volume is maxed out. With low tones filling the cabin, the remaining speakers are able to concentrate on vocals and other higher-frequency sounds. The speaker placement is very good and creates a lively soundstage. The center channel is evident, but does not interfere with the separation of the left and right signals. Cymbals and guitars sound crisp, and distortion is only apparent at high volumes. There is also a surround sound setting on the head unit that adds faux depth with slight digital echoes if you like that kind of thing.
Best Feature: Strong subwoofer.
Worst Feature: Distortion creeps in at high volumes.
Conclusion: The best factory sound system available in a minivan. Trevor Reed"
