2009 Toyota Sienna User Reviews
XLE Limited AWD shown
- $12,635 - $22,398
- Very powerful motor, good fuel economy
- AWD, styling, seat comfort, factory tires
The AWD does not work. From a standing start into traffic the front tires spin to the point the car will not accelerate. I thought the point of AWD was for traction. I hate to say this but the van has to much low end power. It's a van not a Supra.
Toyota can't seem to figure out how to make a confortable seat. I was not surprised the seats in the van were uncomfortable after driving a Camry.
I'm not a Honda fan but the Odesey is heads and shoulders above the Sienna....read morehide

- spacious,captain seats, power everything
- radio has issues
I have a 2005. After being hit by someone else I am renting a new 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan. Even though it is brand new I would trade it any day for my van. Maybe its b/c I am used to more luxuries than what the Caravan offers but the brakes are loud on the Caravan and just seems boring compared to the Sienna. The only problem that I have had with my Sienna is the screen on the radio scrambles and sometimes the buttons do not work correctly. I should have had it fixed when it was under warranty but having three kids makes it difficult to be without it....read morehide

- Excellent fuel economy for a mini van in it's class!
- Major problem with wheel allignment!! too sensitive.
I have a 2004 Sienna and wheel alignment is a major problem, I have to bring the van for alignment everytime I go over a speed bump, or after driving through rough road, or even slightly hit the curb. Mechanics and toyota dealers themselves agree. I drive other cars and only the Sienna has this problem....read morehide

- Bad Quality
I had the car (2009 XLE) for about two weeks when I realized that the fog lights never worked. I took the car to a Toyota dealer and the service rep. told me that one of the wires was NOT GROUNDED. So I asked him if he meant that the wire was not connected. He hesitantly admitted that it was not connected but that it could have loosen during transport.
I have been driving the car for about a month now, and I have noticed a constant rattle coming from the front pass. Seat belt assembly and the two second row windows. When the windows are rolled down between one to eight inches and the car is moving above 20mph, the window glass shakes very aggressively. The shaking causes a very annoying and constant rattle/squeak when the glass impact against the weather stripping. I have also noticed a clanking noise coming from the front end of the vehicle when the car start to move forward after it’s started. It only happens during the initial start/motion. I purchased this vehicle to avoid problems like these (poor quality /quality control) after owning an American car (Jeep) for 10 years and going thru numerous headaches. Now I come to find out the grass is not greener on the other side....read morehide

- Roomy interior, wonderful sound system, perfect for families, luxury for the family.
- Needs better MP3 hookup, Computer system is not as dynamic as it could be
Great for our family. Lots or room. Removeable seats are great for winters so no one gets stuck out side. Ride is smooth and feels like a car not a van.

- Quiet, comfort ride
- Bad quality, loosely interior plastic, bad service.
It barely has 8,000 miles; my 2006 Sienna has start to make all kind of funny noises. Took it to local dealer(Fort Bend Toyota), the service manager said it was some rattle noise inside the dashboard(which I had noticed), and he accused I have dropped something in it. I was told by the service manager Toyota would not cover for rattle noise and I have to pay for it, if I wish to fix it... it's a total disappointment with Toyota, and its unprofessional managers....read morehide

- Comfortable/Good MPG for a van/Standard Features
- **None thus far**
I own a 2006 Sienna CE. This van has never been back to the dealership for any thing. The ride is excellent, quiet. Much nicer than any domestic-made mini van I've test-drove or owned. Looking to trade to a new one soon. Would definitely reccomend this van to anyone!!

- No trim specified for this review
- Big room, many cup holders
- Rough engine, rattles, quite a few problems, boring inside out
After reading so many highly rated reviews, I got a chance to drive the minivan for 5 days as a rentle. I'd say I am quite disapointed; especially after renting the Buick Enclave right before this Toyota.
The Buick I drove was pretty inside out; very refined and smooth; packed with features. As soon as I switched to Toyota at the next city in my summer vacation I could not believe what I found. The Toyota is very cheap looking; the engine is quite loud in acceleration and almost struggles when the AC is turned on; the van rattles in multiple points when going through average condition roads. It lacks of many features which I'm so used with, like temp setting, radio controls on steering wheel, auto headlight, etc. The style inside and out is quite boring. The Toyota with only 4000 miles already has quite a few problems, like the sliding door won't lock to position when opened; the radio lost reception one in a while; the flip over 2nd row seats stuck half of the time.
After driving the Buick and Toyota consecutively, I was curious to see what Consumer Report had to say about the two; it gives the Toyota a 93 score while the Buick a 75!
I'd say this Toyota is a big hype; especially consider the price premium it carries....read morehide

- Roomy, cheap, fairly comfortable to drive adn ride
- Not reliable
I have 2004 LE. AC system broke barely after the 3 year/36K miles warranty perioed. Go ahead and google "2004 Sienna AC problems" you will see how cheap this van is. Very disappointed.
