- Pros
- Room, Ride, Handling
- Cons
- Gas hog, noisy engine, soft, sloppy transmission
Purchased As New
Basically a good car but the transmission is annoying, make a slow breaking turn where the trans needs to downshift and it hangs between gears, often for several seconds, disconcerting.
Right power sliding door has failed twice in 10k miles and the drives power window failed once and now the passenger window is having fits.
Fuel mileage is awful, I have another van, a 2001 Chevy venture with 244k miles on it. with all but front seats removed it averages 23 town, 25 mixed 29-31 hwy. Toyota 13-15 town, 19 mixed, 21.5 hwy (with a very light foot!). On a recent trip we could only get about 360 miles on a topped off tank while the Venture gets close to 600 miles on the same amount. The short range means I can't skip states where fuel is more expensive as I can in the Venture.
Powerful engine, more than it needs, less power might up the mileage some but it's heavy so who knows. Has a great turning radius, power steering is very light, great around town but too light for the highway, at 70-75 mph it tends to wander and needs a light touch on the wheel and continuous attention to hold the center of the lane.
All-in-all not a bad van, short hauls are it's forte, don't buy it for long distance traveling, it's tendency to wander at speed makes it very tiring to drive on freeways. This is it's biggest failing by far. We took one 2200 mile run in it then went back to our Venture for trips. Two-three hours in the Toyota & I need a break - in the Venture I can run through a full tank, close to 600 miles and not be as tired.
Although it has nearly a quarter million miles on it (well maintained), fuel mileage, highway stability & comfort make the Venture much better trip car.
I wish they still made the Venture, it's been a reliable & economical vehicle. My thought now is to do a full refresh on it sell the Toyota....read morehide1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

I rented this van for a couple of days and it was great for a family with 5 kids. We loved it and were sad to return it. It handles nicely, has a lot of power, space, and i can see myself buying it.

- Pros
- More power, handling, included options incl dual power side doors!
- Cons
- Lacked power rear vents. 2nd row seat configuration.
Purchased As New
I traded a 2005 LE. I thought the gas mileage would suffer, but it's not bad. Lot's of included extras like Sirius, a bigger glove box (2). console storage, dual power doors. Power door system touchy, if some one pulls too hard it disengages. The 2nd row seat configuration is weird. You should be able to remove the center seat, but it's attached to one of the other seats. DUH! The seats felt uncomfortable at first, but now they seem as good as the 2005. Not liking the 17" wheels, more expensive tires! You can feel the extra HP, but it's not necessary. The 2005 had more than enough power, even towing....read morehide

Salesman said trouble free. Trouble is not free. Can't have to use when garaged. Traded Chrysler which was a much better car. Dealer service people are arrogant and won't admit problems. Chrysler Van had problems but Service People were very accomadating and bent over backwards to keep you happy....read morehide

- Pros
- smooth and powerful engine, lexury ride, good mpg
- Cons
- some cheap interio plastic

I've owned it for almost a year. No problem at all. A 2000 miles trip average at 24.5 mpg. I tested drive odyssey before I bought it. Sienna has a more smooth ride while odyssey handles better. I drove a friends' 2 year old caravan two month ago. It's performance is not even close to my sienna....read morehide

- Pros
- Decent gas mileage, solid ride, lots of cargo room, towing package
- Cons
- plastic interior design, seat headrests, uneven acceleration
Purchased As New
Tested many minivans and came down to the Odysey and the Seinna. Sienna was superior on price, cargo capacity, and looks. We have 7000 miles and so far we are very pleased. For a big vehicle, we are getting close to 23 mpg in mixed driving. Love the cargo space as I can carry many 4x8 sheets of plywood, I don't think any other van can do this? Love the design, center console is great, good visual displays, rear camera, and flexibility (three kids and lots of room for cargo). Love the shades for the rear windows, lots of cupholders. Plenty of legroom throughout vehicle. Love the two year maintenance free policy. Unbelieavable turn radius.
Dislikes: placement of rearview mirror-blocks vision. Traditional antenna sucks. Headrests on middle row seats are very uncomfortable. Subpar speakers. Challenge to remove middle seats. Plastic interior looks cheap....read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- AS a sienna owner for years I am in love with my new 2011 AWD limited edition Sienna.
- Cons
- I wish they could do something radical with the gas milage.
Purchased As New
I was up till midnight the day I drove my new sienna home reading and playing with the new toys. They have made the systems very easy to understand over the previous siennas I have owned.
