Purchased As New
I did a lot of research and really like what I was reading. Test drove one and liked what I saw. But, I test drove one in the spring and there wasn't any snow. After this first year, I can honestly say that I will be trading mine in soon. Only get the FWD version if you are 1) able to purchase snow tires or 2) live in an area where you seldom get snow/ice. Due to the tall but wide tires (20") the traction on snow/ice is compromised. You are ok at slower speeds and already moving. Don't look to get enough traction if you are at a stop and trying to get thru 4-6" of snow easily. Once you get up to highway speeds, the entire vehicle shimmys all over the place. Talked with Toyota and was told my options were the same as above, if you have a FWD version. I have had FWD vehicles in the past and never noticed this problem. Won't get another Venza, even though I like the inside and the comfort. I don't like having to have the white knuckle driving experience in the wintertime when commuting to work.
