- Consistent fuel mileage of 37mpg average
- seating position took some getting used to but coming from a Volvo....
Love the car. Low cost, good performance and solid gas mileage. What's not to like?

- Great Fuel Economy - Great Value
I commute 140 miles per day (round trip) combination city and highway driving. So far my car is averaging 37 MPG. The car is a tremendous value and is a great commuter car! I love this car. It gets Prius like fuel economy at half the price!

- Great fuel economy, good quality
- small car, low power
Great overall car, but i would not drive one as a daily driver. Not very much protection from other drivers, near a motorcycle.

- This car is great on gas! I can put ten dollars and get half a tank
I love this car. Its my first car as a teen and its really good on gas! insurance is low for a new driver or a driver up 25 also. Its very low mantinence in terms of an oil change. I can fit into almost anywhere with the tight spaces. Its a great car for a young driver or an older one

- Great fuel economy, no GPS standard, good stereo, lots of room, love hand crank windows
- ride is a little rough, when A/C is on accelerating power suffers, armrest optional
I love this car. It rides well although a little rough but I knew that going in. Even with that, the rise is fairly comfortable. I bought it for gas savings and it lives up to that. I drive 100 miles per day. It has a surprising amount of room and lots of storage nooks and crannies. I just hauled a nine foot Christmas tree in it. I was pleasantly surprised with the CD player as it has plenty of punch. So far it shows the same dependability as all the Toyotas I've ever owned and I've owned quite a few. I would buy another one but I love my other car too much to part with it. (A 2007 Camry)...read morehide

- Fuel economy, drivability
- Can get a liitle loose in heavy winds
They made a throw away vehicle that will last 300,000 miles. That said...I love my Yaris. I commute over 60 miles a day and average 37 MPG on the highway at speeds of 70 - 80. I strongly recommend this vehicle for commuting, running errands around town, even for your teenager's first car. You can wash it in 5 minutes and it is the simplest oil change I've ever done on a car. I've had my Yaris over a year now and have almost 25,000 miles on it and haven't regretted buying it for 1 second. I highly reccomend to all my friends looking for a cheap economical vehicle...and who isn't doing that these days?...read morehide

- Love this car!!
- Dealerships that don't know the car or how to sell it.
OK, I admit that I was looking for a MINI Cooper when I stumbled across an advertisement for the YARIS. Here is a car with the same main exterior design (having the wheels at the corners for greater handling, 3-door hatch), the same interior design (center speedo) and similar specifications on all the mechanical numbers, only it is roughly 4500 dollars less and runs terrifically on regular unleaded instead of super! If only Toyota could figure this out! Many of the dealerships I contacted ordered very few three doors, and almost none with any options. If this car was marketed better, Toyota would take a big bite out of the MINI dinner table!...read morehide

- Great fuel economy, unique look, 5 speed trans. fun to drive, Toyota brand
- Interior surfaces scratch easily
I bought my polar white 3 door liftback about three weeks ago. I bought it sight unseen and undriven for the gas mileage and the low price tag. I drove it 300 miles home from the dealership. Handled great on the interstate and cruise control worked great as well. I only drive it in town so I am only filling up about every 12 - 13 days. Getting 28 - 33mpg in town with all short trips of less than 10 miles. It is so much fun to drive with the 5 speed, I could probably get better with less aggressive rpm's. I got the cruise control, rear window wiper and defroster, the upgraded stereo system and the 15 inch allow wheel upgrade. The car is great. From reviews I had read on here, I was not expecting much in the way of performance. I was very pleasantly surprised, it has plenty of pep and more than enough power for what it is, an ECONOMY car. If you are expecting it to run like a turbo Supra, go get a turbo Supra. It is very roomy inside for a small car and the controls are laid out nicely and they are convenient. Has lots of storage, three glove boxes, one I didn't find until I had the car three weeks. I have a little over 1000 miles on it so far and I have no complaints other than the interior surfaces scratching easily. Great car and great fuel mileage....read morehide

- I only get 22 mpg very poor
- bad gas mileage
I only had it one month. I thought it would get good gas mileage, but sad to say it doesn't.

- price, appearence, zips up fast, fair fuel economy
- small tires, sometimes acceleration
I've had my yaris hatchback for 6 months now. I have a basic model. I did not get the power package because for this vehicle I don't need it. I am very happy with my car and it is so fun to drive. Although the engine is a 1.5 liter this car gets up pretty fast. I am able to zip and zoom my way on the freeway with no problems. The heating / air conditioning works great! My model did not come with a cd player, so I put in my own sound system and the factory speakers sound so crisp and clear. I get a lot of compliments on this car, some people even think its a hybrid. The things that toyota could improve on this car is better gas milage, standard 15' tires, and make this vehicle a little more heavier because if you drive this car in windy conditions it slightly sways....read morehide
