- VERY NICE CAR. ITS NOT A HASSLE TO EVEN PUT A BABY CAR SEAT IN BACK.

- Interior room, layout, quality, power for its size
- Dealer add ons like unecessary fabric treatments
Drove on Sat, bought on Tues. Couldn't take my eyes off the hatchback, very funky. It is smooth and who can beat the gas mileage? This is the car for our times. When gas hit $3.5 a gal, the dealers will get sticker price. Had a Corolla for 22 yrs till my daughter crashed it, I loved it. I hope this will last as long. I have already had two near misses on the highway. Look, he's got a new car, get him! She handled well, turns on a dime....read morehide

- 40 MPG and versatility
- No cruise control
Test drove the automatic. Good handling car. Lots of room even in the back seat. Plenty of highway power. No wind noise. Some road noise (was on an Idaho highway not the best surface). Dealer in the back seat would not shut up.....Tested going up a long steap highway grade. 75 mph no trouble. Handles curves great. I ordered mine. Think the manual will be better for me. Auto seems to shift alot. Don't really like the gated shifter. Who really manually goes through the different gears on an auto? Nice map light.
Wish they would have cruise as an option.
Ordered: Manual, Bayoo Blue, Spoiler, Power Pack-to get the 60/40 seat. $13,000 even. They came down a little when I had the invoice from MSN in hand. Dealer not to knowlegeable of the car due to the new modle....read morehide

- Gas Mileage, Euro Looks. Civic Hybrid gas mileage (real world)
- Not for everybody...Not for the superfacial.
The gas mileage is going to be good.
My line of work is testing emissons on cars.
I pretty much know every car sold in the U.S.
If you plan to buy a Hybrid, Please look to the Toyota Yaris or the Honda Fit.
The real life Mileage of the New Honda Civic Hybid averages about 37-39 mpg.
The Prius is about 44-47mpg.
2006 Honda Civic LX 25-29 (non hybrid)
2006 Toyota Corolla 29-34
However the Toyota Echo (it was called yaris/ Vitz in the rest of the world) with an automatic did about 38-41.
without the high future costs of the Hybrid.
The new Civics are selling near 20K, 25K for the Hybrid.
If you are looking for gas mileage get the 3 door Yaris and get about 38 true mpg (we just barely finished testing it) and pay about 13K, and get Civic Hybrid mileage.
toyota lists the Corolla having higher mileage than the Yaris, do not believe it.
The new Honda Fit will also be giving about 36-42mpg(real world).
It will also be an excellent car with a low purchase cost and low maintaince costs).
Don't buy into the Hybrid Hype. Its a good concept, but much too expensive to keep up for the average Joe. Special training is need to service the Hybrids and you must only take it to the dealer, paying special Hybrid service prices. Do let the Hybrid owners fool you by saying they take it to their mechanic for service. If something goes wrong, the Manufacture will not honor any warranty claims.
Try the new Toyota Yaris/ Honda Fit and you'll love it....read morehide

this car fills a big gap for toyota since they got rid of the echo. i hope it is still this affordable when it is released to the public.
i don't get the person who wrote that you should just get a honda civic. that car costs almost half as much again as this car. of course its a better car but it also costs 5000 more. hopefully the honda fit will be more affordable....read morehide

- Fluel will cost more and more
20miles/gallon (100.000 miles = 5000 gallons = 13,500$)
37miles/gallon (100.000 miles = 2702 gallons = 7,297$)
More than 6000$ difference

Anyone who's even thinking of buying this car has nothing to worry about. Everyone knows that cars are the worst investment but I know I'll be making a GREAT investment when I buy mine this spring!
