2008 Toyota Yaris

- Fuel economy better than advertised. Standard Toyota quality.
- Higher speeds unstable in high winds, but not why you would buy car for any way!
This car has just as much room as a 2008 Carolla without the hump in the floor for the back seat (therefor better than the Carolla) This car will get you better gas mileage than the Carolla. Trunk is very spacious for car. The Sedan size fits the Compact car category, it is the hatchback space that makes the car a sub compact (kind of silly if you ask me) The power to weight ratio for this car is up to the demands of daily driving, it is laughable that so many professional reviews completly miss the mark on this car about its power when for its niche this car hits all the marks perfectly. Some people might complain about the styling, but everything is done for economy, and efficiency, and this cars pulls this off superbly. YOU CAN NOT GO WRONG with this car unless you want to haul big things with it....read morehide

- Average gas miles about 38 MPG town and highway, excellent turning radias
- Little noisy above 60 MPH but other than that great car
Excellent quality throughout. Good sound system. Lots of room for lugage and other items. Toyota made this one to last

- Great on gas!
- Cup holders are in an awkward spot-but adaptable
The Yaris Sedan 2008 is my second car...what a difference! I never knew what keyless entry felt like and that is just the beginning. This car is sleek and runs smooth. It doesn't have a lot of "pep" at the beginning of the drive but once it gets moving you can't tell how quick your going. I love the bucket seats and although the cup holders are in an awkward spot it is easily adaptable not to mention a smart idea. The AM/FM/CD player is easy to use and the sound is clear. The trunk space is large for this size of a car and there is so much leg room throughout the seating area-front and back. Driving the Sedan feels like I am driving an SUV but without the consumption of fuel-I feel much higher while driving the Yaris Sedan. The #1 reason why I bought this car is because I feel safe. There are 6 airbags and of course ABS-GREAT for Canadian winters....read morehide

- This is an amazing car. I went from a 4WD to this, and I have no problems at all in the winter.
- There are none.
I love this car. I was worried about it for winter driving in MN, and it proved to be so wonderful. I love ever thing about this car. It's so cute, and comfortable. I don't know why every person that is looking to buy a car for gas mileage doesn't buy this car. It so the best car for the price. Why would you pay more for the Hybrid??????
Thank you Toyota for this car!!!!!!...read morehide

- Roomy for its size, 40 MPG, handles great, better than expected power
- limited options,one key fob,no steering wheel controls,no nav
Drives great, easy to park, handles very well - excellent steering response, very roomy considering the size of the car - particularly the back seat and trunk. Limited options available.

- Execellent fuel ecomony, quick for a small car and nice city cruiser.
I purchased Toyota's 200,000 KM extended warranty because of the peace of mind I receive knowing everything will be covered for 6yrs/200,000 kms.
This is my third Toyota vehicle. I am currently trading in my 2000 Corolla with 310,000 kms and received $1500.00 for it. Compared to all other vehicles in this price range Yaris is great vehicle. With tax and warranty this car cost me 22,000.00. The cost savings on fuel alone this car will pay dividens down the road. I had a 1997 Trecel and always drove 640 kms on $20.00....read morehide

- Awesome on gas, very roomy inside w/ a large trunk, decent sound system w/ iPod hook up
- It's lil feet are no match for the wind, no storage on the dash like the 3 door
I bought this car in November and have clocked 10,200 miles to date. Everytime I fill the tank I track the MPG's and it's always averaged 33+.
I was a little worried about the purchase as I have two little ones. However, there car seats both fit snug in the back seat. We haven't had an issue with luggage since the trunk is surprisingly large.
It's well designed car with everything placed just where you expect it to be. Hooking an iPod up to the stereo is a luxury not expected in a cheaper car....read morehide

- Good fuel economy,
- Noisey inside. Especially the Fan ! Cheaply built. low quality paint
I went from Camaro SS v8 to this gutless wonder . I like the car gas mileage savings alone make the car payment so it's like a free car.
ROOMIE inside even with a 6ft large man , everyone likes it - It's an intelligent car to get. Cup holders are in front of the air vents keeping drinks very cold. Car has no blind spots like the camaro.
Just would like it to be a little more quality in the interior and the paint job was really thin it scratches fast ie bugs.
I drive 75/25 percent highway/city mileage from 34/42
amazing above EPA...read morehide

- AWESOME gas mileage, cheap, lots of space
- Seat belt sensor is very sensitive
I've had my Yaris about a month and I have to say, there are very few things that I don't like about it. I'm glad I bought this car - with gas prices just shy of $4.00 a gallon (where I live) and over $5 in some places, I'm proud to say that I'm prepared for gas prices to go even higher. My first tank I averaged 40.1 MPG, and my second tank 37 MPG. I do about 50/50 city and highway driving. The EPA for my trim of Yaris is 29 city and 35 highway, so I was extremely pleased. It's very rare that you can achieve (or beat) a car's EPA.
There is much more room inside than it looks. I'm an average sized gal and I fit in the Yaris perfectly. However, my husband who is 5'10" has a little problem fitting into the front passenger seat just because we have an infant seat in the back and he doesn't have any room to scoot back. He sits in the back seat just fine, and there is even lots of room in the floor board.
Love the cup holders that are placed right in front of the vents. It keeps my drinks cool in the summer and warm in the winter. There are also 2 cup holders in the back seat.
LOVE the compact look of the car... you can basically park it ANYWHERE and it's so easy to maneuver to basically anywhere.
The only complaint I have is the seat belt sensor in the passenger seat is very sensitive. I can place a couple of grocery bags in the front seat and the sensor will go off... so I have to buckle in my grocery bags. I'm getting to the point where I'm just going to keep the seat buckled in until someone actually has to sit up front.
Overall... a great car. If you are looking to purchase a Yaris don't hesitate. Buy it, you will not regret it. Toyota's selling them as soon as they enter the lot....read morehide

- fuel economy, suprisingly comfortable
- hard ride
Great little car! I traded my '98 camry in for the yaris based on a recommendation from my brother who had rented one on a recent vacation. I average around 40 mpg (~70-80% highway driving) for the first 2000 miles! Much cheaper to own than the hybrids with not that much difference in fuel economy. (I recently drove our '02 prius 1600 miles on a trip and averaged 44 mpg.) Ride is little hard over bumps, but other than that I have no complaints. Love the jack for my iPod. Works great!...read morehide
