Bought this 2010 Yaris used. Haven't had it long but so far so good. Few minor complaints. Fuel door lever hard for me to reach and is right next to the trunk lever. Even though I'm short getting in and out is a little tight. The fuel economy is great! Despite the cars small size and little engine. The over all performance and ride are very nice. Wouldn't want to drive from Maine to California or drag race a Vette. Still a nice daily commuter car. Now I'm just hoping it lives up to the Toyota hype and I can put 100 grand on the odometer before something major goes....read morehide

WE just bought a 2010 sedan and love it. just sold s pontiac 6 cyclender grand am and not regreating it at all. the get up and go is great on the yaris due to the low weight. turns better than a honda fit!. At 65-70 freway speeds can get 40-45 mpg easy. It wants to really run ans seems that 80 is more its crusing speed very quiet in and outside. Looks like a camry and a prius had a child with camry looks and almost prius mpg. NO complants here the other reviewers must be ford or the competition car dealers ...its a great ride 4 spped auto is really a 4 speed with overdrive which is awesome!. see many in the bay area and find others yaris parking next to me...Positives attract remember. Pro van driver for 15 years and like the camry ride very comfy. check the specs on 2010 and 2011 for a great used deal...I did. money well invested. Thats Toyota for this one..and no recalls too!...read morehide

- Good fuel economy
- Poor visibility, very unstable at hiway speeds

I would never buy or rent another Yaris! Very poor visibility, uncomfortable seats, wanders all over the road at freeway speeds. And don't even take it out on the road in the wind! The interior gauges are hard to read and located in the center of the dash instead of being behind the steering wheel. A very poor econo box....read morehide

The Toyota Yaris is a perfect example of a car designed to tranport u from A to B. It's dependable, but it's sooooo BORING.
The main problem with this car is SAFETY: my car recently crashed and the airbags didn't go on even though the air bag sensors were activated. The person who was driving it could have get killed if the accident had been more serious. The dealer ignored this "problem", they just fixed the car, they didn't even offer any apologies. Besides that, the car has virtually no electronic assistents and that- in addition to cheap brakes- translates into long braking distances, exhaustion of the brakes after only a few miles of driving. If you have a car like this please don't drive in rain as the car is uncapable of handlig on any less than perfect terrain.
Consumption is mediocre, i'm getting about 20mpgs in city driving. That's less than almost any other competitor. The ride is smooth but at the cost of performance. The transmission is jerky and unresponsive, the steering too light (nervous in fact).
The interior plastics feel like that of an 8000 USD car. The equimpment is poor.
Service is- as usual in Toyota- excelent....read morehide

- It had everything on it that I wanted, including cruise control and rear window defroster.
- One can hear the car rolling over the road a little too much.

I bought the car on April 11, 2009 at Beaman Toyota here in Nashville, TN. My car included the All Weather Guard Package, Remote Keyless Entry System, Power Package with 15-in wheels, and Yaris Carpeted Floor Mats/Cargo Mat. I love driving my car more everyday. It zips great in traffic. One might not think a small car like the Yaris is strong and safe, but I got hit in the back by a semi truck just over a month ago on 65 North and there was just damage to the bumper and trunk lid. Beaman Toyota had it fixed up like new again in no time at all. The best thing about the car is that it is a Toyota. It will last forever. It will be running long after other cars fall apart....read morehide
