This Hybrid's performance will blow your mind!

by Dave from Bend, OR (7/22/08)
Pros:Beats EPA ratings, quiet and comfortable, excellent ride, great stereo!
Cons:Interior a bit too heavy on the use of cheaper plastics

I am 55 years old and have owned a large number of imports over the years. I must say this is my favorite purchase so far. We also own a 2004 Toyota Prius, so I'm very familiar with Toyota's hybrid system. I am so impressed with the overall design of this fine car. The refinement of it's performance, comfort, heating/cooling system, and superb JBL sound system, ( in the optional package ), make this car a pleasure to spend time in. Add the excellent mileage that can be obtained, and this is a no-brainer selection if you need a larger 4 door sedan that does not feel like your riding in a tin box.
One word of advice: If you learn to drive a hybrid correctly, and lay off jack-rabbit starts, stomping on the gas, and hold your speed at say the low 60's on the highway, you will beat the EPA rating's of this fine car. I drive around 60-62 mph on the freeway, and get 40+ per gallon! My in town average is 35. You don"t have to drive a econo box to get decent mileage anymore. Buy a Camry Hybrid and have it all!!!

Great car

by Steven Jackson from Birmingham, AL (7/20/08)
Pros:Great fuel economy, very nice ride, turning ratio incredibly, powerful engine
Cons:a little on the pricey side,

I had an old 95 Camry that I would just use for work, I got rid of the car when it got to 300k miles and got a 05 model. My wife had an 06 S550, she drove my car one time and made me get her the new hybrid model. She loves that car so much, she traded her Benz for the hybrid.......Incredible.

This car is amazing! We drive it long distance like from Atlanta Ga to Phoenix and Sacramneto CA all the time. Absolutly comfortable with the lumbar support the only thing you will need to stop for is food or restroom. For this to be a hybrid it has so much power, the turning ratio is amazing.

Toyota Hybrid, great mileage and peppy!

by M. A. from Harrison, AR (7/20/08)
Pros:Great mileage reaching over 40.2 several times on level terrain. Average is around 38.5.
Cons:Cruise control doesn't hold going down hills because of coasting capabilities.

I'm a big guy 6'4" 290 and the car is simply comfortable even on long trips. The trunk doesn't hold much but that's a trade off for a 1/3 of the gas usage I was getting with my Tahoe. I love the reliability of Toyota vehicles and their customer service departments sure beats GM and Ford dealerships. The car is very peppy and maintains great speed up hills and in the passing lane.....a real surprise! I'm buying my wife a Camry Hybrid in January.

Excellent buy

by Allen from Dallas, TX (7/13/08)
Pros:Great fuel economy, Comfortable Ride
Cons:Not comfortable for a larger man

This car is great! I have owned my Camry Hybrid for two years now and I haven't had any maintenance problems. The fuel economy is great I average about 36 miles to the gallon about 520 miles a fill up. The ride is very comfortable but for a larger man like my father the ride was a bit cramped. I would recommend this car to anyone!

Great Car - Would recommend

by Ann from Kansas (7/13/08)
Pros:Good fuel economy, smooth ride, great family car, comfortable, good look
Cons:limited trunk space,

I have owned the 2008 Camry Hybrid for almost a year and I love the car. I can't go back to a regular car. The ride is so smooth you can't really feel the speed. I have gotten upto 38 miles per gallon, except when temperature is below freezing. In order to get good milage you have to learn how to drive the car efficiently to get maximum use of the battery, but once you do it there is no going back. I was visitng my parents and had to borrow their 2007 sedan and I could completely tell the difference in driving styles, gas mileage and smoothnes in the ride. I would recommend this vehicle. Oh and on the trunk space, like any change you adapt to smaller trunk. I have an infant and have found ways to get both the playpen and stroller into the trunk. Where there is a will there is a way.

Great bargain.

by No Fun Bob Nine from San Clemente, CA (7/11/08)
Pros:Great mileage - averaged about 37 mpg over 42000 miles
Cons:Acceleration is very poor. Does not seem like 192 HP.

This car was loaded with leather, navigation and a sun roof in addition to all the great standard equipment. Have now had it for over a year and over 42000 trouble free miles. With gas in my area averaging over $4.50, this has saved me a lot of money.

GREAT CAR!!!

by DJP from Arlington, Tx. (7/11/08)
Pros:Get 33-34 MPG in city driving and 40+ MPG on highway!!
Cons:A little slow on acceleration from a dead stop.

Has to be the best hybrid for a really quiet and comfortable ride!! Just wish that US auto makers would catch up to what Toyota has going!!!
Owning a hybrid is the most realistic way to deal with these gas prices now and into the near future.
Maybe cellulosic ethanol will be a reality but for now i'm driving my Camry and laughing as I don't need to fill up but every 2 weeks.

Camry = My Car

by Alex A. from COS, CO (7/11/08)
Pros:Great fuel economy, low drive noise, connects with MP3 player via aux port, very comfortable drive.
Cons:Does not accelerate well when engine is turned off, touchy breaks (only a con at first).

I adore my Camry. Truly, aside from the various dream cars, there is no car I would rather own. My father owns an Infiniti M35, and having driven both, I can say confidently that I am overall more satisfied driving my Camry than his luxurious, yet heavy and city-slug M35. The Camry performs admirably, though can be slow to accelerate if the gas engine is off, as there is a certain lag-distance between initially touching the pedal and requiring the gas engine to turn on (useful, however, when you attempt better fuel economy). Another plus is the auxillary port in the back of the dash compartment with which you can listen to music on your iPod (the only purchase necessary is a double-jack cord that will plug into the iPod and the port), which boosts my personal enjoyment of my Camry many times over. The touchy breaks on the Camry are something to get used to, but once you do, you'll never look back; anything else will start to feel sluggish and non-responsive.

Pros:Great fuel economy, Bluetooth, Smart Key, Quiet Ride,

Gas usage dramatically down.

by John Grffen from Jensen Beach, FL (7/11/08)
Pros:07 model. Fuel economy exceeds expectations: 35 to 38 city; 39 to 42 hwy.
Cons:Hybrid batteries take up at least half of the trunk space.

Maintenance has not been an issue. Only routine oil and filter changes in forst 31,000 miles. No warranty or other breakdown issues so far.
