| Pros: | Gets a lot of attention |
| Cons: | Terrible fuel economy, terrible visibilty, terrible wind resistance, balloon tires feel sloppy |
I didn't buy this vehicle. My boss bought it as a company car, so I've spent a lot of time driving it across the midwest. Long story short, I hate having to drive it. It feels like driving a garage door and the squishy tires make it squirm all over the road. The power is good, but that comes at the expense of fuel economy. Worst feature... the visibility. It has some giant blind spots, which makes merging lanes in bumper to bumper traffic an adventure. The interior trim is done in high quality, but looks like a video game console. Best thing about the car is the stereo. It's sounds quite nice and has plenty of features. With a $10 cable from Best Buy I can plug my Ipod in and listen to my music. My conclusion... buying this vehicle is a complete waste unless you plan to trek across the outback. I've heard the FJ is good for back country driving, but I know we probably won't ever get it on a gravel road, so it's a complete waste of money.

| Pros: | Looks, highway and off road handling, rubber mats, sound system, suspension, exhaust |
| Cons: | lots of plastic, blind spots |
I have had my all white Trail Teams Special Edition FJ for a little over a month now and am loving it. I took it out to my families ranch in NM and put it through the ringer to see where it would go and where it wouldn't. It climbs like a champ. I was able to climb over a pretty hefty dirt shelf that left me seeing nothing but sky out of the windshield with no problem. I just locked the rear differential and put it in 4WH. The FJ has great get up and go on the highway for passing and since I am an aggressive driver that just got back from Iraq I love that. The steering is extremely responsive offroad as well and with the Blistein shocks on there its a smooth ride where ever you go. I put a K and N oil filter on it and it has moved my gas milage up to 26 MPG pretty much on the highway or offroad. The rubber mats and flooring make it easy to clean out. The power outlet in the back works great for a computer, air compressor, or even a vaccume. I recommend this SUV to anyone who likes to get sporty with the off road and still look good and handle well in the city or on the highway. Just learn how to drive with your mirrors because the blind spots take a little getting used to.

| Cons: | Gas mileage, Price |
I got the 08 Special Edition. I love it. I drive on the weekends and can't get enough of it. Everything from the seats, stereo, exterior, and interior are great. I owned a Jeep wrangler when I got this and it did better off-road without the rear locker. The FJ does well off-road as well, just not as well as the Jeep. It is alot more comfortable and gets more attention. It was more expensive than I wanted to spend and fuel mileage is about the same as the Jeep. I will keep this forever.

| Pros: | excellent traction , power, ride and no problems! |
| Cons: | short windshield and blindspots |
owned a 2001 ford expedition, bought new within a year problems started O2 sensor then the A/C , rear wiper , power windows and one day at 52,000 miles with all factory services performed at dealer plumes of blue smoke on every start up. Having owned a 84 Toyota p/u that ran like a Rolex and now a 96 Toyota p/u that does have a recall on the frame but under inspection mine looks brandnew, I purchased an FJ 2007 when they 1st hit the lots and love it! i was the only 1 in my area for awhile to have 1 and it drew crowds wherever we went. We had people asking if they could crawl under it look under the hood even to take a spin around the lot (with me there of course). i have 3 kids and though I miss the room of my Expedition I don't miss the repairs and I welcome any small inconveniences of the smaller FJ to the trouble free reliability i am experiencing!

| Pros: | simple, good everyday suv, good for hauling dogs, stuff. had good pick up on highway |
| Cons: | hated rear doors, trade-in value was awful, interior wasn't very durable |
I owned a fj cruiser since august 2006. It drove well, and was neat looking, but some of it's quirks grew old. The rear side doors, the poor rear visibility, the premium fuel, the stock tires in the snow, the plastic in the rear scratched too easily, the radio and the headliner speakers were terrible, and the useless roof rack that when a kayak is on made the most horrible sound at highway speeds. But the biggest problem I had wasn't so much with the vehicle, but its resell valve. don't be fool no matter what car you have, what brand its, resell value will be awful. Unless you own something that is in high demand. I have own imports for eight years, swore I would never buy a domestic car. But after growing tired of the fj, and the toyota dealers not wanting their own car back. I bought a hummer h3, and with the huge discounts, it was a deal.

| Pros: | Airbags all around! Extra outlet in the back, front and rear skid plates! |
| Cons: | blind spots, short front windshield |
Love my new iceberg white FJ!!! I'm a Dodge 4X4 truck driving girl, but this new vehicle really makes me feel special. Sure I don't command the same respect on the road now that I drive a fancy off road outfit, but I wouldn't trade it for anything!
I still feel safe and can't wait to get the tires muddy or plow through some snow this winter! Love the GPS, the rubber mats and all the shiney faux metal in the cab! Wish it got better gas milage, but worth the extra bucks.
Will I ever go back to a truck-probably not. The Toyota FJ is like any other vehicle out there, not perfect, not for everyone but the only way to understand the FJ is to test drive, ask lots of questions and talk to other owners. Make up your own mind. I love mine and am glad my husband told me to hold out for a white model.

| Pros: | Very confortable ride on the highway, plenty of power, very capable off road |
| Cons: | Gas mileage, rear blind spot |
I purchased my 2008 FJ a few months ago and so far it has been a pleasure on and off road. I purchased the trail team package in all icberg white. The automatic transmisson is very responsive and it will get up and go when I push the gas peddle (so will the gas guage). I had a 2001 Jeep Grand cherokee that was a money pit. I bought the Jeep from my next door nieghbor with 40000 miles on it and I put an additional 15000 miles on it and everthing was going wrong with it and the parts and labor are not cheap. I test drove the Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited and also the Nissan Xtera and my choice was the FJ. The Wrangler has no room for storage if going camping or a long trip with luggage and golf clubs and less horsepower than the FJ. The Xtera has more horsepower than the FJ but the Xtera feels cheap. The TRD wheels look great and the TRD exhaust does add more horsepower and it sounds great. I was in southern Arizona about a year ago and saw the FJ being put through it's paces by the Toyota testing division and believe me it was 114+ degrees out and the vehicle didn't miss a beat and they were beating it up pretty good.

| Pros: | Go ANYWHERE, ANYTIME in ANY CONDITIONS |
| Cons: | Rear visibility, small backseat, absolutely cheap windshield |
I live in the snow country in Park City, Utah where we had 427" of snow this year. I bought the FJ to be able to travel in any condition and have not been disappointed at all. The 4wd and high clearance means that it can go in 2' of new snow safely. I have had it off-road recently on a stone double track with up to 30 degree incline. There was snow melt still in the track and other than sliding sideways once the vehicle went straight up the mountain. Fuel economy is suprisingly better than EPA says with a proven 21.6 mpg average over the first 1000 miles. This included some in-town driving for errands and an 800 mile round trip to Moab, Ut.
Overall, I have been very pleased...
