| Pros: | Silky smooth V6, Comfortable seats (sport) |
| Cons: | No factory moonroof or leather, but then it's a truck not a luxury car. |
The perfect "Urban Cowboy" truck. Some complain about "rough ride" duh! It's a truck! Compared to Nissan Frontier, Ford Ranger, Dodge Dakota, and Chevy Colorado, it beats all of them hands down in ride, performance, and best of all resale value. That's a standard feature that is not available in the other makes.

| Pros: | Appearance, good interior layout, decent performance and sounds |
| Cons: | Hard to park in tight spaces, ride is a little rough(it's a truck) |
Mine is a red TRD Sport, 2006 W/29000miles. I have had 0 problems with it. It handles country roads and Houston freeways with equal ease. No buyers remorse here.

| Pros: | Good fuel economy. Best small truck out there. |
| Cons: | Rides a little rough, but it's a truck. |
Although our Tacoma isn't a 2009 model this vehicle model deserves a pat on the back. We've had ours over seven years and it's never failed to deliver. You name it, we probably hauled it at one time or another. Lumber, gravel, stone, dirt, mulch; it's carried the lot. The handling isn't sports car quick but more than adequate for a truck. Ditto for the breaking. The mileage on the highway averages between 25 to 27 miles per gallon depending on who's driving. It improved by about 3 mpg when we replaced the factory tires with Good Year rubber. We've had no maintainence issues at all. Oil and filter gets changed every 5k miles religously and we're pushing 50K miles now. It's my wife's vechicle of choice. (And mine too.) It's hard to beat the Toyota Tacoma I4 engined manual 5 speed for the maximum bang for your buck.

| Pros: | Lots of power, excellent handling and traction, very comfortable for 4 people. |
| Cons: | Poor gas mileage, with the full size bed, it's not easy to park in parking lot. |
I bought mine in 2005. If I drive like grandma does, I can get about 18 mpg's overall driving. But when I use the power..... ahhh how sweet it is! i added the factory roof rack, it whistles when I'm doing 85+. The tie-downs in the bed are alright for light stuff. If you want to crank something down tight, they flex. I think Nissan has the best set up as far as that goes. My suggestion is if you have your mind set on the Tacoma, Go for the TRD package, the perks are worth it. My stereo isn't as loud and clean as my prior S10 was.

| Pros: | Rides smooth (like a big car) nice sound -easy to shift |
| Cons: | gas mileage. |
My boyfriend just purchased this car, and we both love it. I have never drove a truck or a stick, and this was the first one I have. And it's amazing. The Speedway Blue is sexy!!! Over all the ride is smooth and sounds beautiful.

| Pros: | Exterior styling is very nice, especially in red |
| Cons: | Gas mileage is low given larger engine |
I love the exterior design of the truck; with the red color, farings, and larger wheels it' a real looker. And given the compact size its even more attractive. It can move pretty well with the peppy engine, but the transmission is a little noisy even in fifth. You really need to go all the way to sixth to quiet it down. It has taken me some time to get over having reverse gear next to first. I am always afraid I will go into reverse instead of first. However, whenever you do punch reverse, the rearview mirror TV camera comes on, so at least you know.
If you are trying to find an X-runner in the northeast, good luck. I was only able to find them in the southeast for some reason. And consider going with a 2008. I dont believe there is much difference between the '09 and '08 models, and you may save a few $$$. But move quickly. There aren't many made apparently.

| Pros: | Awesome truck, good performance/handling and good looks. |
| Cons: | Gas Milage should be better for a small truck. |
The Tacoma Pre-Runner is good looking, reliable and practical. However, it needs more modern comfort features. Gas milage is the only major disappointment. I previously owned a Ford F150 with the 5.4 L V-8 and it got 17 mpg in town. The Tacoma gets about the same. The F-150 was more comfortable and had more features, but was bigger.
The Prerunner is fun to drive, is relatively fast and a good handling truck. People stop me all the time and oh and agh over mine because I upgraded the wheel package.
Best small truck made.

| Pros: | fuel economy (relative to full-size trucks); good looks; quiet, roomy interior; good sounding stereo |
| Cons: | bouncy ride; some bump steer; squeeks in rear springs |
The Tacoma Pre-Runner SR5 feels a little less refined than most full-size trucks, and the 2.7 motor will never be classed as a powerhouse, but overall it's a good, capable truck. After break-in, city fuel mileage has been a little better than rated (21-22 mpg actual) and highway mileage is @ 23 mpg if limited to 75 mph cruise. Best so far was 26 mpg when kept at 60 - 65 mph. I shoot some DuPont Multilube into the rear springs and shackles every couple of weeks to keep things quiet back there.
