FORD!!! all the way!

by James from Mountain Home Idaho (7/05/08)
Pros:Power!
Cons:Entire truck.

I recently test drove a tundra because all the commercials hype up the truck. In my persoanl opinion I thought the truck was GARBAGE!!!. The chassis wasn't boxed in completely, it was like a "C" shaped frame. It stopped well but, I feel in the long run it will be the trucks down fall. The suspension looked cheaply made, it looked like some one took a welder to three peices of metal and called it a lower control arm. In a nutshell I left the dealership and went to FORD! There I found and bought my truck. It looks and feels like a real truck should. Toyota needs to take some pointers from the Top 3 truck manufactures Ford, Chevy, and Dodge then come back and try to say the have the best.

You get what you pay for

by Juan from El Paso, TX (6/20/08)
Pros:Something new, very powerful
Cons:Price, fuel economy, just a fancy copy of a F-150

I have own 4 different trucks, this being my first import. The power from the 5.6L is awesome. Good build quality and durability. But too expensive as mine went over $42K in price with no leather seats. Honestly, IT IS JUST AN UPGRADED VERSION OF THE FORD F-150 at a premium price. Not very original as I can upgrade a corvette to beat a ferrari. Poor gas mileage. This should not be a daily driver it will drain the middle east dry. A work truck for a craftsman not a show-off white collar nid-wits.

I would recommend the Tundra.

by Bob Miles from Tennessee (5/10/08)
Pros:Good power, looks good, comfortable, lots of room
Cons:Engine is a little noisy, transmission downshifts to much when you put on the brakes going downhill,

The backup camera is good, but I wish I had bought the aftermarket type instead of Toyota's. The camera only comes on when you put the shifter in reverse. I would like to be able to turn the camera on when I want to. It would be good that way when you pull a utility trailer. The aftermarket brands can be turned on anytime.

You can put the shifter in the "S" position when you want to shift the transmission yourself. When you do this, the gear number you're in shows up on the dash (1,2,3,4,5 or 6). It would be good if the gears were always indicated on the dash even when the transmission is shifting itself automatically.

Tundra Rules!

by Garry from Northridge, Ca. (11/28/07)
Pros:Great power, reliability and you get what you pay for.
Cons:none

We will never buy a Ford, which is built in Canada and Mexico, Dodge or GM/Chevy. The Tundra is built in America and it is built very well! The Big 3 are waay behind in all facets of vehicle building!!
