| Pros: | Fast for a truck!! |
| Cons: | Truck likes to creep when stopped, first day plastic piece under dash fell off. |
First hour was great then, then a plastic piece under the dash fell off. Brought back to dealer and they repaired it. 2 days later, the wiring kit on the tow packcage shorted out and my boat had no lights on the trailer so i got pulled over. Quality is really lacking. wont buy another toyota.

| Pros: | POWER, BEST BANG FOR $$$ |
| Cons: | BIG, THIRSTY (12 MPG CITY/18 MPG HIGHWAY), POOR GUAGE LAYOUT |
Pros:
The power produced by the 5.7 is very impressive. lots of low end torque. From the factory, mine has a tow package w/ 4.30 rear end! The 6 speed transmission really helps control the powerful engine. In casual driving, it starts in 4th gear to help improve gas economy, and the low gears are great for fast launches.
The base model "Tundra Grade" is nothing to scoff at. Still very comfortable and includes many standard features. When compared to popular domestics, I felt like it was the highest quality and the best value for the money.
No reliability issues at this time (3 mo., 4700 mi)
Cons:
Gas mileage can be okay for a big truck, but I tend to get on mine and the gas mileage shows it. I have gotten as low as 11 MPG, however this is solely city driving with a heavy gas pedal.
The dash has a unusual layout, and the steering wheel obstructs some important guages (like the gas guage). Shifter is bulky and it can be difficult to put it in the intended gear.
Finally, it is BIG. Can be tough to park if your not use to driving trucks.
Overall impression:
I love it! Excellent! Fun to drive! The power is awesome straight from the factory, 2nd only to Desiels. Plus, they are giving good deals on them now since everyone is intimidated by high gas prices.

| Pros: | great power,can install a plow,and enough room for the kids. |
| Cons: | poor location for cruise control, |
not real happy with the air thumping when driving with the front passenger window in the down position. My dodge Quad cab only does it when the back windows go down. I'm not looking forward to problem with tailgate. On a positive note my Ram 5.7ltr gets no better than 12 mpg. This gets 16-18 mpg.

| Pros: | Great Looks, pretty good fuel economy, AWESOME ENGINE!! |
| Cons: | A little too rough of a ride, spotty quality control |
As a Two Tundra Family since 2001, I feel pretty qualified to speak on this one. We traded our 2001 & 2004 Tundras in on two 2008 SR5 5.7L 4X4 trucks. Mixed feelings now. Such an awesome truck held down by spotty quality control, and spotty engineering blunders, something we had no problem with concerning our 2001's and 2004's. I can honestly say my 2001 SR5 4X4 is more comfortable than the 2008! The new 5.7L engine is a jewel. It actually gets better gas milage than the 4.7L in either of our previous Tundras. It may be a Toyota, but it's a Toyota Made In America. Good for our economy, bad for quality control. Sorry, that's just the way it is. Example, my front bumper gap, from side to side, differed by almost 3/4 of an inch. In this day and age there is no excuse for that. The JBL subwoofer, under the rear seat, is a joke for how much room it takes up. It's coming out and better aftermarket one is going under the passenger seat. All in all, a decent truck, but if I had it to do over, I'd have kept the 2001 & 2004.

| Pros: | Very roomy inside. Alot more truck for the money compared to the competitors! |
| Cons: | Nothing negative about this truck. |
Ford, Chevy and Dodge should make trucks this good. Toyota has the reputation for making great vehicles that run forever. In this day and age I want something that won't end up in the shop every other week.

| Pros: | Engine power, 6 speed automatic |
| Cons: | Styling, quality control, rust on rear fenders, dash design, mileage, price, cheap interior bits |
This truck is the worst POS I have ever owned. I bought it late last year as a 2008 model with the fast V8 performance winning me over and so called Toyota quailty. Well never again! So far this truck has stranded me twice, been in the shop for rust on the rear fenders, faulty tailgate after hauling lumber a few times, faulty transmission calibration that the dealer needed to reprogram the module several times to correct, interior silver plastic that is already starting to wear off, the leather on the steering wheel is starting to wilt, the flimsy gas filler door that bends when you touch it and is lopsided and doesn't close right any more and several recalls that forced me to take time off from work to sit at the dealer to perform. No wonder Consumer reports removed it from there recommened list!

| Pros: | Oh it moves... But that is all. |
| Cons: | Poor Quality, Below Average Comfort, High Price, Bad Fuel Economy... |
I have been a die-hard Chevy man since I was old enough to walk. I have owned other GM products but never a Toyota. In fact in 2007 when my wife needed a new car I went to my local Chevrolet dealer and got her a 2008 Impala SS in black that we both like alot. When it came time to go truck shopping a buddy of a mine a fellow Tundra owner (owns a 2006 the old style) told me to look at a new Tundra I about laughed, but I read Motor Trends glowing review of it and had my friend saying once you go Toyota you won't go back. So I drove a Tundra needless to say the 5.7 performed like a champ and on that alone I selected the Tundra 5.7L Limited Ext. Cab. My wife couldn't believe it, and I thought about going with a 2008 Silverado LTZ 4X4 Z60 with 20's but my dealer didn't have any and the Toyota was so much faster. So now after owning it six months and have had more problems with it that I can shake a stick at I can say this is my first and last Toyota. This is what I get for having an open mind and sending my dollar's over sea's is this? I don't care if they are made in this country my money went over sea's and I was disapointed they had there shot, I have had electric problems, my tail-gate has gotten a hump from all the bags of soil I haul in my trucks, besides electrical problems and a tailgate that is basically shot. Do your homework guys and be careful what you buy. I am thankful that I had a for sale sign in it and have had an offer on it almost what I paid for the truck. I am special ordering a Silverado LTZ Ext. Cab Z60 4X4 with a Vortec Max what I should have got in the first place. Well it is my first and last Toyota. Can't wait till my Chevy comes in... So is this what I get for having an open mind...

| Pros: | Great truck! Rides Great, looks great and Plenty of room for the kids in the back |
| Cons: | None just more Pros, :) |
Try the Tundra before you get any thing else! I Needed something that was good for work but suitable and reliable for the family also. This truck has more room in the back than some of the Suv's out there and I can pull a 10,000 pound trailer with out bracking a sweat! My last toyota truck is 11 years old and runs great and we know the rest of the trucks out there barly last 5-6 years. Go with something that can speak for it self with out saying a word Toyota Tundra. Don't waist your money or gas money try this truck first you'll be happy before you even think of leaveing the dealer.

| Pros: | power, quality, value...best half-ton truck made PERIOD! |
| Cons: | I average 18 mpg with the 5.7L. Not too bad for a truck like this, but nothing to celebrate |
Being a former Ford owner for over 15 years, I originally planned on going with the Ford F350, Diesel, but after reading the many horror stories out there concerning reliability, I decided the price tag was too great to gamble with. I believe the perfect vehicle would be the F350, with Chevy's Allison transmission and Dodge's Cummins turbodiesel, but unfortunately no such vehicle exists. After some thought I opted to go with a gas engine. After test driving a Ford, Dodge 1500 and a Chevy Silverado, I tried the Tundra and was sold right away. While it doesn't have the towing capacity of the big diesels, no other truck in it's class even comes close to the Toyota in quality, power or value (particularly resell value). I have never been more happier with a vehicle. The sticker price was a little higher, but through some good research, I was able to save over $6K on MSRP, making it even more of a value. The refinement of this truck is heads and shoulders above anything the Big 3 have to offer. I also like the idea that it's made right here in the USA. Something a lot of Dodge owners can't say as many of those trucks are assembled in Mexico. It has more power (with the 5.7L) than any of the other trucks and because the engine is so refined, it actually uses less gas than most of the others. I can only say if you haven't test driven one of these, make sure you do before settling on something you'll most likely regret later.
