Purchased As New
Have had 2 months and used for two trips (one 1400 miles). Previous cars were BMW 328ix (3 in a row), M3, and 325 in last 12 years. Handling and performance on skid pad comparable to BMW 328ix (me driving), not as sttiff suspension, driver's seat much more comfortable for long term driving. Is a 4 seat coupe without pretense of seating 5 like BMW. Transmission (6 spd) with std automatc, sport and Tiptronic (paddles) very responsive. Ride not as "hard" as BMW but is every bit as nimble. High price made palatable because 2010 demo when 2011's were being introduced + VW more willing to negotiate and their "paper" is less costly than BMW (interest/rent charges for capital). Found performance comparable to Acura TL SH-AWD and Subaru Legacy 3.6R Limited. VR6 4Motion has limited availability and appears identical to all other CC models but is substantial difference when driving (Found one medium size dealer who never saw or sold one). AWD system nearly identtical to Quattro (but better than BMW's which has a different approach). Had grown tired of BMW's (with the "badge" image), and quality had been steadily diminishing (ever more plastic) + less fit/finish + runflat tires compromised perforformance, permitted easy wheel damage, and were very costly. Have not found reviews which I consider accurately relfect the (VW) car's character and performance (includinng Car & Driver's).
