Average 28 MPG Very comfortable to drive for long distance or around town.

Cons

Slight hesitation at take-off, sometimes. Energy transfer in rear end crash is horrible!

LOVE this car! Serving its purpose very well with great MPG, fun & sporty to drive.
My only complaint so far is the fact that the rear end has to be built so solid for the convertible roof that when I got rear ended, it really hurt. There's not much damage showing on the car, but getting hit while stopped by a much larger vehicle felt like falling on my back from a one story roof ( did that once, so I know! )
A smaller car hit me in an offset rear collision, I was stopped that time, too, and it caused some pain that lasted a few months but not as bad as a direct hit by a truck.
Overall, I would highly recommend this car- maybe remove the VW bagde on the back that gets mistaken for a target....read morehide

It is a great car that definitely gets the second looks on the road. The big appeal was it being a hard top convertible with a sun roof. There is minor rattling noise when the top is up and you go over hard bumps on the road. My car gets great gas mileage, but also has plenty of get up and go when you need it thanks to the Turbo. You will not find a car in this price range that is a hardtop convertible with a sunroof and has a luxurious interior and with the top up, it rides like a luxury vehicle, smooth and quiet. It is very quick out of the gate and can go 0 to 60 rather fast. the 2.0 liter, 4 cylinder turbo engine is great and the mpg is great. I paid $28k for a 2011 eos that had 8000 miles on it. I highly recommend this car to anyone who wants a hard top convertible. I personally think the eos is the best kept secret in the auto industry. Why there isn't a big inventory of these cars is a mystery to me?...read morehide

Not sure if I would purchase another Volkswagen. In DFW traffic you need a car that you can depend on to accelerate, in more than a few instances there is an awful delay.

I purchased my Eos in 2007 and fell in love with it the moment I first saw it at the dealership. I love that it's a 3 in 1; hardtop, sunrook, and convertible. The only drawback I found is that after 150,000 miles a component inside the transmission went out and now my entire transmission is being replaced. Thank God I paid for the extended warranty. It's extremely costly with out it. I hope to have it for years to come because it would be hard to trade in for another model. It's my best car ever. Love, love, love it! I absolutley love this car! It has plenty of bells and whistles, but also has the great ride of a luxury car at a less than luxury price. Handles great, lots of fun to drive and great safety reviews to boot.
