The Volkswagen Golf R is one of the most revolutionary automobiles of our time. When the Golf R32 was introduced back in 2004 it “wowed” enthusiast customers with its small size that included a 3.2L VR6 engine. The 2012 Golf R attempts to do the same with its 2.0 liter turbocharged 4 cylinder engine that produces a whopping 256 horsepower. This may not seem like a lot at first, however when you break it down the Golf R has a 128 horsepower per liter, which is more than most supercars nowadays. Moving on to the interior we see almost no flaws, Alcantara stitched racing bucket seats, touchscreen media center, and premium fender sound system add to the already very German interior. Overall fit and finish of the Golf R is top notch in its class, rival cars such as the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X and the Subaru Impreza WRX STI are struggling to even come close to the Golf R’s quality. Overall the Golf R is a well-designed car that tops most cars in its segment. I would give the Golf R a 9.5 out of 10 rating which ranks much higher than most competing automobiles. Points being deducted for the faulty traction control system; however the positives of the car definitely outweigh the negatives therefore this isn’t too much of a problem. Overall I would highly recommend looking at the Golf R if you are looking for a well built, comfortable and fast pocket rocket....MoreHide

Our 911 went on a few road trips from Cedar Hill, TX (a Dallas suburb) to Phoenix AZ and from Cedar Hill to Annapolis MD and it was always a tight fit; this will not be an issue in the Golf. Only problem is my wife stopped driving her 2011 5 series BMW and started taking the Golf to work!!...MoreHide
