I have had problems with the fuel pump, gass seeping, the seals, a coolant leak, a flaw in the paint, and now I am getting condensation on the inside of the car. After nine months I am taking the loss and trading it in for something a better I hope. Also the MPG I was only getting about 27 not the 34 on the tag and not the 40+ the dealer was telling me to expect....read morehide

- Great gas mileage, fun to drive
- Not a lot of available option from the dealer
So far I like the Golf. With the Turbo Diesel, you can have a lead foot and still enjoy the great gas mileage. I drive 70 miles round trip to and from work, so going from my truck (16 mpg) to the golf (averaging 45 mpg), I visit the pump a lot less. When driving this car, it is hard to believe that it only has 100 hp. Surprisingly smooth ride for a small vehicle. Cabin noise is minimal. I test drove many other vehicles (Mini Cooper S, Civic, Neon, and hybrids) before coming back to the Golf. Not to mention the cost for diesel fuel where I live stays between the cost for 85 and 87 octane. Miles per gallon is fairly close to the hybrids I looked at, but the Golf outperformed when it came to acceleration....read morehide

- Outstanding...with the power to boot, amazing technology and interior night lighting very nice
- shifting is slightly rough, steering ease is slightly tough and total price is a little high
The power, fuel economy, the night lighting system, the looks gives technoogy a high five. I like it, a lot.
