2010 Volkswagen Golf
There are 9 user reviews for the 2.0L 2 Door TDI trim shown below
- Great mileage, modern look, lots of equipment, German made (not Mex)
- Very long doors (watch out in tight parking), a little rough starting from a standstill
Purchased As New
So many good things, went from consistent 20 mpg with an 07 Jetta 2.5 to consistent 30 mpg daily driving (mostly city) in almost 3000 miles. No long trips yet but I expect over 40 mpg. The premium for Diesel over regular gas is only around 7-8%.
I'm not rating for reliability because I've only had it less than 3 mos, but so far no warranty issues (no such luck with the 07 Jetta).
The car handles VERY well, very precise sterring.
This car is not Lexus quiet, but it is quiet. Except when idling on a red light with windows and stereo down, you'll never know you are driving a Diesel.
The car is PLENTY fast and powerful, the power however kicks in just under 2000 rpm. The DSG transmission is super smooth and fast and with paddle shifters on the steering wheel and Sport and manual shifting options on the gear level you can have plenty of fun.
Also plenty of space even for adults on the rear seats (on the 2 door).
Very handy trip computer, steering wheel controls for the computer and the audio, bluetooth connectivity for your cell or portable audio player, turning Xenon headlamps are very cool.
Really great sounding Dynaudio speaker and Amp enhancement, won't blow the doors off but it is perfectly tuned for the small cabin and as an audiophile I can tell you that it is very well balanced, natural sounding, very accurate and the bass is perfect (use high resolution sources like original CDs or 320 MBPS audio rips, not the crappy sounding satellite as a source!), rock, jazz, techno, classical, rap, it all sounds great.
The first 3 services are included in the price (10k, 20k and 30k), that's a plus, even though they are just oil changes basically.
I could go on and on...
