Purchased As New
No doubt about it, this is a fun little car to drive. The interior has a quality feel similar to its Audi cousins. Probably the best thing about the car. Handling and performance should be good enough for most people. The ride can be rough on uneven pavement, otherwise it's usually smooth. Stick with the 17" tires and wheels for a smoother ride; go with the 18" wheels for better handling and steering response. If you like a manual transmission I recommend that you get the manual. The auto trans has been trouble prone. It won't leave you stranded, but its performance can be erratic and jerky. That being said, some people have never experienced problems. I have had the car two years and starting experiencing problems with the DSG auto transmission after one month. Had it replaced once and repaired under recall once and it still does not operate smoothly when in "drive" mode. It works fine in the two shift it yourself sport modes. Overall, it's a great car. Just get a manual transmission and you'll be very happy. If you get one with an automatic transmission, hopefully it will be one with no problems. I gave it a lower rating on value and reliability based on the auto transmission. With the manual transmission it would rate 4 or five stars. Other then that, you will enjoy this car. It does well what it was built to do.
