I'm still debating for whom VW designed the GTI. It's not what I would call a comfortable car for daily driving because the low profile 18 inch wheels along with the suspension transmit every single bump on the road like I'm driving some kind of high performance machine. It's not a good track car because for the same money, Subaru WRX's, Mazda Speed 3's, Mazda RX8's, and V6 Camaros will destroy the GTI on any track. I guess this car is marketed to the pretender crowd since the GTI feels and handles like its fast but in reality it doesn't do anything well. The GTI is a well balanced machine from the perspective of mediocrity. Everything the GTI does is just ok, but commands a premium price which puts it against much better performing competitors.
