- Good fuel economy, Great exceleration, Fun to drive
This is a very fun car to drive. Be careful stepping to hard on the excelerator...this car car peal rubber. What's amazing is the gas mileage is awesome. A coworker of mine just bought a Toyota Matrix and only gets 23/29 MPG and moves like a snail. We have two little boys 3 yrs and 6yrs and the back seat room is perfect for two car seats with plenty of leg room. I highly recommend this car. It's a sports sadan without the guilt. A true value....read morehide

- Excellent handling, has correct ride quality; fuel efficient
- stereo good, but could be better
We needed a new car after my wife's was totaled while parked on the street. We had only owned Subaru, Toyota and Nissan as per their history of reliability, but was informed by a family member about a Saab that was placed in a museum after being driven over 1,000,000 miles, and thought, "that's the car for me!"
Well, to make a long story short, I purchased a beautiful, low mileage 2003 Saab 9-5 Linear with complete service records and for a brief period in time thought I was in car heaven--until the repair expense (items separate from normal maintenance) exceeded what I later learned was to be expected.
After taking personal responsibility to learn more about cars (versus depending upon the advice from well intended family members), I came across the Jetta with the 2.0 turbo engine. The engine is proven and the frame reinforcements on the 2007 model suggested an improved, more quiet ride over the long term. Of course, the proof was in the driving, which did not disappoint.
Here was a car that handled significantly better than the Saab with less torque steer, but more torque and horsepower, and to top it off, better gas mileage.
Tomorrow I take it to the dealer for its 10,000 mile service.
Thus far, I can only report total satisfaction and note the 10,000 mile marker as a fair one to predict that with proper maintenance, who knows, maybe this will be the last car I purchase that runs on fossil fuel....read morehide

- Build quality, performance, standard equipment, fuel economy, comfort,
- rear visibility
This was my first non domestic car in 24 years and I am very much impressed with the build quaility of the 2007 Volkswagen jetta. It is 3 months old and I am very happy on my decision it is proving to be an excellent automobile. The performance of the 2.0T engine with the sport suspension is amazing. It delivers quick acceleration and excellent handeling. I purchased the white and it gets alot of stares. I was told I won't be disspointed and my sources are right it is an excellent car, great quality and fun to drive....read morehide

- 2.0T engine, DSG, great handling, responsive steering, perfect safety rating, good gas mileage, etc.
- Very few minor stuff like iPod connector should not be inside the glove compartment, stereo is ok.
We absolutely love this car! This is my wifes car but I try to make excuses everyday just to drive it. The 2.0T engine is fabulous! No turbo lag and handling is great. DSG is amazing! I am not sure why high end cars dont have DSG. This will be the benchmark for sequential gear boxes and the future of changing gears. VW has put the fun back to the Jetta. The finish is fantastic. If you buy a Honda, you will end up with a Honda (boring). Overall, this car is a sensation! Should you get one? You bet you should....read morehide

- turbo motor, styling, quiet ride
- not quite the audi a4, but 13 grand cheaper
Have owned this car for 2 monthes and 2000 miles and noooooo problems. sure i miss the 2005.5 audi a4 i turned in, but like this payment much better. would advise against the 2.5 motor it's a dog compared to the turbo, and the mileage is better. the motor and chassis is all audi a4, nice ride leather is decent, sunroof and sirius with the upgraded sound system is a must. the system is not bose not even close but decent. I think the quattro will be missed this winter, but this car is 500 lbs lighter, more fuel efficient and for those with the need 4 speed, try the 6sp manual its a blast to drive but watch out for the torque steer with the front wheel drive, not used to that after the quattro. my third german engineering car will miss the benz, and a4 but not the few extra hundred bucks each month. p.s try esurance for your auto insurance it will save you hundreds..........read morehide

- BEST CAR FOR THE FEATURES, LOOKS, QUALITY AND VALUE!
- BAD NEWS FOR THE SLIDING COMPETITION, YOU KNOW WHO!
THE BEST CAR FOR THE MONEY DUE TO ITS GOOD LOOKS, PERFORMANCE, FEATURES, QUALITY AND COMFORT. I CHECKED OUT THE COMPETITION BEFORE DECIDING ON THE VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. I WAS IMPRESSED WITH THE KNOWLEDGE THAT VOLKSWAGEN IS THE LARGEST CAR MAKER IN EUROPE. THAT SAYS SOMETHING WHEN BUYING A CAR AND THEY ALSO OWN AUDI COMPANY, WHICH THE HIGHER END VOLKSWAGEN!...read morehide

I traded in my V6 2006 Toyota Solara for this car and I don't have any regrets at all. I love all the little extra features that come standard such as the AC vents and the light for the back seat, the air conditioned glvoe box, the rain sensing wipers and so many more. I love the road response that is has, even in ice and on snow it handles like a dream. I especially like just how quick it accelerates, it has a lot of pep that surprises the cars that I leave in the dust. It is even faster than my V6 Solara! And, of coure, I love the fuel efficiency of my Jetta. Being a daily commuter that helps a whole lot. Also, for dog lvoers, I have a 65 pd lab and a 75 pd German Shephard and they both fit very nicely in the back seat with no complaints!! For the price, you can't get a better car. It looks great, is economical and roomier than similar cars and it is just an overall great buy!...read morehide

- Very Good Car with powerful engine, good handling, smooth ride
I've owned my Jetta for 4 months now and I just have full admiration for this car. No problems at all, not even rattles or squeaks. Just the ordinary oil and filter change at schedule maintenance. The fuel economy is at the listed rating, just depends on the road conditions, but in the highway it is as stated. The shape is better the Japanese cars and so with the quietness of the cabin. I like my Jetta and would not trade back to my old Civic or even an Accord....read morehide
